I'd be getting it for the 360 except for 2 reasons: a) I don't have much confidence in the console b) I'm afraid it's going to sound like a jet plane when playing (like ME and COD4)...the fan/dvd noise is greatly annoying and distracting.

What's sad is that this isn't just a little squabbling fight between fanboys, i think there's some legitimacy to it with it being 360's Live and faulty hardware vs. PS3's horrible online but much more trustworthy system.

I honestly just like knowing that 99% of the time my PS3 will work when I turn it on...I can't say that about the 360 and it sucks. I don't want to be halfway through GTA4 and get the 3 RROD.

Im in the same boat as you, albeit my 360 isnt loud though. I am close to selling my 360 because of money problems and so it makes little sense to get a big game like this for a system I may not have much longer, and before anyone points it out, Im getting it with a gift card. Secondly, I have a PRP through Best Buy for my PS3 so if i crapped out on me between now and December of 2009, I can take it back to the store and walk out with a new one that day, none of this mailing it off and waiting garbage. Lastly, as much as I would like the extra DLC, by the time it hits I will have moved on to other games anyways and wouldnt have the time to play the extra content, so for me its a no brainer. Im not a fanboy of anything in the end, I just enjoy video games no matter the system.

Hey, I own both consoles too. I just wish people would just concern themselves with what concerns them. It just seems like people on both sides of the aisle get concerned/worried when reviews say one or the other looks better.

Bottom line, who cares? Enjoy the damn game already.

Probably because so many are always having to justify the purchase in the first place and dont want to think that the system they purchased is the weaker of the three. Unfortunatly, with the prices of these consoles increasing it will only get worse as more and more people can only afford one or the other.

We can't buy/enjoy the game yet...that's the issue...this is all moot once it releases...you won't hear all this talk, because people will be playing more.

I agree, I'm tired of it too. I've got both and it's such a hard decision because both sides have pros and cons...I don't blame people for wanting information that allows them to make a better decision, but it gets old when people must defend their choice with "PS3 is way better" or "360 online roxors"...

Soon the game'll be out and it'll all be in the past.

I don't give a damn about the console war. I just like hearing the different reviews. My 360 doesn't make a ton of noise in my experience so it's no big deal. The only thing i'm a little scared of the RROD thing but it's something I can't control.

Not exactly the best quality video to judge. Where is Gametrailers comparison? I would have thought they would have had something up by now. Eurogamer is probably waiting on the pixel counter at B3D before posting theirs.

I still can't decide which version to go with.

Noise is game by game...I don't know if it's disc reads or what, but COD4 sounds so loud, whereas Vegas 2 is fine...Sports games were quiet, but Mass Effect was another notable loud one...

Don't worry bout it though...you'll be fine and there's nothing we can do anyways, so just enjoy the game when it drops.

This discussion of which version is superior is hilarious- this isn't the only forum that I visit that has the same discussion happening. I'm happy that I think I've grown past these fickle debates.

Is it a cap in the feather of PS3 fanboys that some outlets said it looks better? Hey, if it makes you sleep better at night.

all things equal, the 360 version is going to be superior with the DLC in my opinion, but i'd still love to see some identical time/place/tv/etc screenshots from both versions to compare graphically

XBL is the only reason I got a 360 again. I don't care how the game runs on either console, as they'll be almost identical. The trend is games being closer on the both consoles, so console fanboy nitpicking is petty.

maybe its just me, but when i watch the 360 version, there is more "fog" off in the distance when compared to the ps3 version, or at least there is when you're driving...

XBL is the reason I'm getting the game for the 360, but to each it's own. The communication features for XBL are unbeatable IMO. I'm sure the game will be great for both consoles. It's a great time for all gamers. GTAIV looks to be awesome, so let's stop arguing over the consoles and buy WTF you want.
