No freezing at all. Something really strange i ran in to a guy next to Roman's garage and gave Niko so money. You guys just have to listen to his stuff. I really don't know what to make of it. To find him look for a stick figure on your map right next door to the garage.

I'd like to add that..as in previous GTAs...the radio stations are EXCELLENT.

Any game that has Queen's "One Vision" and Godley and Creme's "Cry" (any 10cc fans out there?!) is a winner in my book.

I keep it on Liberty Rock the whole time. Great station!

Just about the worst weather day you could ask for for a midnight release cold and wet. Arghhhh BUT

Yup i got my PS3 copy.

My first impressions was the jaggies. i'm sorry but they are as prevalent here as they were on ps2 for san andreas. Graphically all i can say if I were to nitpick is that GTA's in general have this kind of "pusshing the limit" quality to them as if the jagies are hopeless to get rid off. i don't know about anyone else but in order to get the best out of the game visually i had to tweak not only my settings "in-game" but also on my hd. while we are on the topic. i would like to say that i was playing MLB 08 on my current tv setting and the graphics were cystal clear, when i popped in GTA4 I had to completely change those reg setting into something different. this is a constant problem when i move to games from EA to 2k and this problem persists with GTA4. I might actually be sounding picky and almost making it out to be that it's not good but i am merely stating my experiences with the visuals of the game. After i tweaked fo about 30 minutes i came out with some great settings that make the game looks great and much better than it intially looked. i had to literally sit there and calibrate the screen until it looks more lifelike which it now does. having been abe to tweak NBA 2k8 along with other games seperately i was able to come up with good results for GTA4 as well. Visually the game looks great...NOW after i tweaked the @#cker. i tell ya though i was gettin pretty upset with it,BUT patience turned out to be avirtue and the visuals are lookin great. i am mainly talking about colors,contrast and brightness along with sharpness settings i had to completely reconfig. on my hd. it seems that 2k's or albeit rockstar's take on color and these types of things are different than mine. to be honest the colors were off in the same way MLb 2k8's were(not THAT bad but pretty much needing a tweaking which is why they have put in all the extra visual settings themselves).

saying all that makes it seem like i am not impressed. well i sure am, because other than those aspects the games a massive improvement over anything we saw in san andreas and most definetely better than anything volition came out with with St.'s row.

I wanted to check in with what i immediatly disliked and was happy to fix on my own.



makes me wonder what the 360 versions lookin though right now, because the ps3 version DID NOT look good out of the box.

Ohh and one other thing 1080p if iffy on GTA4, i much rather have it at 720p. along with this the framerates about as good as san andreas's to be honest. it's not super smooth as much as I thought it would be either. seems like it s a solid 30 or so but it' late and i'm really just not sure as well at the moment...


I've put in only 3 hrs so far and will continue to play through the night!

yeah you're pretty much not a gamer if you don't buy this game...

the production is far more than anything ever else produced and the dialogue is endearing, really really priceless stuff. and it's a breath of fresh air to have a new take on this American dream story

have you managed to fix it up? i was able to but i had to go to some advanced settings on my hd and it does look alot better but i'm wondering what's up with the game itself. The major problems are when cars have a metallic trim or when building have gates and such.

Actually i just read a few other forums and it IS a problem....

At first it was really dissapointing but i got rid of it somewhat by going in and trying different settings on the hd gamma stuff contrast stuff etc. but somehow i feel kinda cheated about the whole things having to calibrate.

AND whoever said the ps3 version is bright is wrong. i had the black level thing on through the xmb and had to turn it off because it made the game TOO dark.

While the game is most likely great, awesome etc.. I know plenty of people that are gamers that just aren't into GTA. I don't get why but that doesn't make them less a gamer. But I get what you're saying. Hopefully by 2-3 today I'll get mine picked up will be home playing it. We'll see.

Unfortunately

Pop in GTA IV after I get home and it freezes midway through the beginning, after I get to watch a little bit of the deck.

Then it froze again during loading

Then it red ringed.

I wouldn't be so pissed if I did not wait in line in 30 weather for 15 mins then drive 20 mins home to my house....

Us Ohio people are cursed! I feel ya man. Sucks.

That's one thing you can't do, accept a friend's request in game. Everything else in game though, run through your cell phone is EXACTLY like XBL. You wanted that functionality, GTA4 gives it to you.
