And then I proceeded to drive laps around it until I created a big enough traffic jam of cops so they couldn't get through and see me sneak in.Comment

It ain't that bad man.
SpoilerJust when you are about to pick up the bag retrace your steps. Once you hit the hallway, run like hell outside right into the car.
With full body armor and health you should be able to make it into a car no problem as long as you don't stop to fight.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
I find that the best way to get away from the police at three or four star wanted level is to just drive around for a while within the wanted circle until you notice you aren't acquiring anymore cops on your tail. The really aren't that hard to evade if you get over the notion that you have to try and get away from them as fast as possible, careful driving and plenty of turns will cause them to over pursue you and crash like idiots. Anyway, after you max out the number of cops look on the map and set yourself up on a path that gives you a fairly straight and fairly long stretch of road. You should be able to outrun them fairly easily provided you don't have an ice cream truck or something incredibly slow.Comment

Re: **The Official Grand Theft Auto 4 Thread**
Its weird, it still doesnt say that I have completed the story yet, and I have. I dont get why its not updating, it updated the stats that are kept in the marathon section but wont update this story gang area to show I beat it. Im honestly dumbfounded.Last edited by The Chef; 05-13-2008, 03:14 AM.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
SpoilerOr if you want to do what I did, run to the water and jump in the speed boat, makes the mission really easy then because that thing can outrun the chopper easily.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
SpoilerMake sure though that you buy body armor before hand. And take your time clearing out the dudes, I found the last two guys to be kind of a pain and they would easily take away a lot of your health if you aren't careful.
Just dash into the first car you see ASAP as soon as you get out of the crack house and don't bother engaging. From there on out, it's smooth sailing as long as your good at turning.XBox 360 GT: XFactor416Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Has anyone done all of the stunt jumps yet? Im using Game Radar to find the locations and they provide videos, Im doing the 2nd one listed and I keep getting the message that it isnt good enough, yet in the video it shows them doing it with a car and it doesnt even crash off the jump yet its good enough to get credit, what do they base the decision on exactly? Im confused, Ive tried it with a car and gotten nothing, Ive tried it twice with a motorcycle and got nothing, so if anyone knows what Im talking about and can give me a tip that would be appreciated.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Well I was going to go for the 100% completion but the stunt jumps are just way to ridiculous to keep my interest, ridiculous isnt really the word, more annoying, pointless and stupid. Ive done 21 of them but Im so tired of having to do the same jump over and over because it deems it isnt good enough, I dont have the patience I guess that some of you do. Has anyone here actually done all of the stunt jumps at all? Some arent so bad, but there are a bunch that just make me want to launch my controller across the room. Ive watched video of the best line to take, where you should land, what vehicle to use even, and still there are many times where it doesnt work no matter what I do.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Finished up today.
SpoilerI was actually a little disappointed. I decided to make the deal with Dimitri instead of killing him, so maybe the other ending is better, but there was just something missing. Can't put my finger on it, but it was anticlimatic, imo. Going to start from the beginning and, of course, do everything the opposite of what I did the first time, and possibly make a push at 100%.I am become death

^ Finished the story today too at 73% in 55 hours of gameplay, making the same decision, and feeling a similar way.
Gonna focus on the police related side missions now, but after doing those i might just take a break from GTA (its the only games i've playing the last two weeks), before eventually coming back to it for the pigeons and unique jumps.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
SpoilerI based it on the phone calls. While Kate was "right" with her assertion about "principles," I just never developed any kind of relationship with her. (She never put out, never dressed sexy, never said anything funny - nothing; I mean really, who give a crap what Kate thinks?). Meanwhile, Roman, my cousin and best friend, is telling me to make the deal. Seemed like a no-brainer in that respect. All these guys who chose the other option have some serious blood-lust going on. Heh. What about you?I am become death

SpoilerPretty much the same thing. I only cared about the money tbh and i was already dating Kiki (after having a good time with Carmen), so Kate was the last thing on my mind.
I wasn't expecting Roman to get killed though. That turned out to be a bonusMan he was annoying!
As for the other decisions i made:
- I killed the guys on the first island (Vlad, and also the guy you chase on the rooftops)
- I killed Dwayne instead of Playboy X, because he was such a whinging b****
- I killed Darko, mainly for fun, but also vengeance.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
I finally had time to fire up multiplayer for the first time. I wanted to play with one friend, so I went to party mode and we both successfully got into the lobby.
The problems started when I wanted to start a game type - any type. I was taken to a screen showing a bunch of strangers playing I never saw before and before that could load, both my friend and I were kicked back to separate lobbies. Is this just the servers being messed up, or is it something else? Thanks."We were expecting a miracle with Elite, but instead we got Jesus at halfcourt."
