re: Grand Theft Auto IV
From my previous experience with free roam, I could change all three of the aforementioned settings and pretty much dictate what everybody else would see while playing on my my server. Not sure about each person's individual settings but that never used to have a bearing on what the host set up anyways.
THIS REALLY SUCKS NOW!!!
All of this changed after I downloaded the Lost & Damned last night and I also received a game update when I went to play. One of the two has EFFED up my gaming bliss in free roam!!Last edited by Hoos; 02-20-2009, 11:46 AM.XBL Gamertag: hoos4974

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Beat the TLAD story last night. Wasn't too bad although I thought it would be longer. The ladt mission was really good but i'll let you guys see it for yourselves.
Right now im just running through the Gang Wars and Races and they're fun as well. Oh and make sure you play Air Hockey too because that **** is addicting on there and Rockstar should've had this on the original story.#RespectTheCultureComment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Does completing the races and/or gang wars reward you with anything in-game, apart from adding to 100% completion? There's no achievement on 360 for it, so unless they reward you with some safe house goodies (like in GTA 3) i can't see myself completing them. Same thing with the seagulls...yep, the pigeons are gone but there are now 50 seagulls to shoot, but again, i don't know if they reward you with anything. I've only come across 1 seagull in my 10 hours of TLAD.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
1) From the single player game, access your cell phone
2) Press A to open up the menu
3) Choose Multiplayer
4) Choose Preferences - In preferences, there are options for police, friendly fire, an auto aim. In here you can set each of them how you want. In my case, I turned on police, turned on friendly fire and turned off auto aim.
5) Press B to exit the preferences screen
6)Now you can set up your Free Roam session and when you get into the game lobby, the above three options will be set appropriately.
Hope this helps someone who has been struggling with this.XBL Gamertag: hoos4974

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Is anyone else digging the noise effect?
When I first played L&D I immediately turned it off. I recently turned it back on and I'm really liking it.
It really helps with the distinction between GTA 4 and this add-on...it does take away from the crispness of the visuals, but I think it really fits in well with the dirty grimy theme of the expansion.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
After finishing TLAD earlier in the week i decided to go back to the original GTA IV and go for the Liberty City Minute achievement while i still had a feel for the game (which also allowed me to play out the alternate path of the story). Turned out to be very easy, finished it in 17 hours 43 minutes, but i did skip most of the cut scenes early on and used taxis to fast travel alot of the time.
I also liked how the new songs in TLAD remain in the tracklisting when you go back and play Nico's story. I really enjoyed the new additions to Beat 102.7.
I think there were 23 from memory in TLAD.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Well I just beat the game for those of you that are interested including one racing mission it takes:
Spoiler23
missions to get there.
Took me a little over 8 hours. I would say that is pretty good bang for your buck.
The ending was decent, probably don't feel as satisfied as beating regular GTA IV, but still a great DLC, well worth the money.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Yeah I am pretty happy with TLAD overall. The ending wasn't really satisfying, but the way the story develops I don't know how they could of done it without significantly changing things.
Overall I think it's worth the $20 and I'm looking forward to finally trying out multiplayer which I'm sure will add to the value even more.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
damn...is it me or is TLAD freaking hard!?!?! I feel like I am taking 2-5 attempts for every missions (I have been through 12 so far). It seems like I am playing the last few missions from GTAIV overand over again.NCAA: Pitt, Arkansas State

re: Grand Theft Auto IV
Not bragging, but I haven't had to restart a mission yet. Only done 6 or so though.
The key element that I was forgetting about was "Cover" with "RB". I wasn't in cover at first and was getting lit up. But if you use the cover system you should be able to get through the first couple pretty easily.Comment

Always call in Terry and get armor. Then call Terry and Clay for backup. I don't know how much help they really provide as far as offense goes, but I think they absorb more bullets that would be directed your way.Comment

There have been a couple missions I've had to restart, but nothing that seemed impossible.Xbox Live Gamertag: MizzouBrentComment
