    re: Grand Theft Auto IV

Quick question...I just started L&D and read the blurb about Johnny's custom bike and how if I ride it with the gang I can gain health and such. What if I lose it on a mission or die? Is the bike gone forever and thus no health and repair bonuses?

Just call Clay back up and he'll drop another bike off for you.

Also sometimes there is the same bike sitting next to the club house down that little alley way. Its not hard to get that bike. Some missions I went to in a car and after the cut scene there was a bike sitting out there for me as well.

          Hey guys

I just downloaded L&D last night. I have the finial 3 missions left for the original GTAIV. Going to start L&D after I finish those (I know been slacking soooooo many games out).

But what are yall impressions of L&D so far? Has it been worth the 20 bucks? How are the new multiplayer modes? How good is the new bike handling?

Thanks guys. Hope to fire it up in a day or two.

I can only speak to the handling of the bikes online. IMO they handle much better on the road compared to how they used to.

I haven't played much of the offline campaign or the new online modes, so I dont know

Well worth the investment. I liked this story and the way the whole deal was done better than the original. Took me about 9 hours to complete the story, which when you compare to Call of Duty 4, which took 7 hours, its way cheaper. I haven't done any of the gang wars or street races, but people in this thread have said those are pretty rad too.

The only thing that I am disappointed in is that the bike handling in the add on doesn't make its way over into the original game.

The bikes are awesome, though the acceleration for those bikes is a little slow, but whatever.

really so the handling did not help the old game out. strange. Thanks for the info though wolt

No it seems to only have been applied to the patch. In the patch there is more of a volume of bikes as well, but if you go back to the original game, there are very few bikes, all the new weapons aren't there and the bike handling is the same as it always was.

Kind of a bummer, but the expansion is still awesome.

They basiclly worked it as a whole new game. Instead of patching the old one. Weird way of going about it, kinda of a bummer but not a major deal breaker or anything.

Has anyone been able to find a damn TLAD multiplayer game? I've tried for two days ranked and player match, and I haven't even played one. This is ridiculous. I prob. could hop back on IV and get in a game in 2 seconds

Yes, i find a game everytime I look. Did you mess with the prefrences at all? I did, and I wasn;t able to find a game until I changed them back what they were.

I don't know about any one else but there is definitely a difference in how the Bikes handle in the TLAD as opposed to before, when you would make a sharp turn you would either crash into a building or fly off your bike.

I read a review on the DLC that said the reason the bikes handle better is because you're playing as a biker, not because there were new physics/adjustments that only apply to the DLC. Here's part of the quote from the Gaming-Age review:

Your bikes handle better not because of the developer's decision to respond to criticism of the physics that Niko's journey incorporated, but simply because Johnny's a freakin' biker. It's a coin flip in deciding whether this was pre-meditated on Rockstar North's part, but it adds to the realism that they set out to create-- that this is a consistent city and that your character's personality and history ought to naturally apply to the way they respond to the player controlling them.
Makes sense, and kinda cool if that's the case. Not sure how true it is though. Could explain why certain improvements don't impact the main game

Love the DLC btw; still haven't finished the primary game. Can't believe so many people listed this game as a disappointment last year
