Pedal to the medal. If you don't learn how to weave through traffic at top speed with ease, the game is gonna get VERY tough as you cross over 40-50%. Racing missions become a beast too.


I also go fast because I've been spoiled with the cab system. So whenever I decide I don't want a cab for whatever reason, I get impatient when trying to get somewhere. I sometimes sit in the cab and listen to the radio though (usually when I'm multi-tasking)

If I have a nice sports car I'll usually drive fast but try to be careful in more congested areas.

When I have the Range Rover Sport or whatever that SUV is I tend to ram my way through anyone in my straight line path.

But mostly I use the Taxi's (HA, kind of defeats the title of the game a bit) especially when it comes to going from between the islands. I have to say it was one of the coolest gaming moments when I first got to Algonquin and went through the city in the Taxi van, I felt just like a tourist looking out the windows at the buildings and whatnot.

I tend to drive at normal speed when going through areas i've never been before but for the most part I try to drive as fast as I can. I'm learning slowly but surely how to weave through traffic a bit so I guess that's a good thing for later on in the game.

I use the cabs once in a while but I don't like spending my money at all LOL!

I switch between hauling and obeying the rules of the road(I always pay Bloomberg his tolls), but I avoid wrecking my car at all costs.

Sometimes I drive around, get out of my car, and punch women in the face. The men in GTA tend to disagree with my actions, while pulling out their guns and shooting me.

Yet if I punched a guy in the face, they would root me on. What gives?

Dude, that's hilarious.

I do the same thing. I called my wife downstairs one night while I was playing. I had my "fun" where you just get out of the hospital and there is a nurse leaning up against the building having a smoke.

My wife is watching and she knows what's coming. I beat the leaving piss out of that poor girl and for good measure, I capped her dead body. My wife got really disgusted and told me I was "a pure a**hole".

I got a great laugh out of that one.

It shortens the game by a great measure. If you ride in a taxi and "skip" to the location, no extra time is added. Pretty cool.

there's an achievement for riding a full taxi ride between two islands, and it is kind of cool the first time. However the taxis cut driving time if you're going just for missions, and after a certain point, the $40 or so it costs to skip the drive entirely is almost meaningless.

I started out by goign slow, walking down the streets (not running) and driving slow. Then, as time went on, i started flying around the city. I love going 100 mph and trying to do sharp turns, veering off the roa dand just drilling some poor bystanders.

My favorite thing may be going by a shop that has a bunch of white chairs and tables on the sidewalk. I build up a head of steam and just plow through, always good for laugh.

For the most part I go crazy everywhere. Whenever there are conversations in the car though I take it slow. I wish I would take it slow and try to obey traffic laws sometime, but the amount of times a car sits at a green light (or especially at the bridge toll, cars will sit there for a minute with the gate up).

You know, have a bunch of snitches on their cell phones telling on Niko every time he bumps somebody's fender....LOL

Imagine how much more time it would take to finish this game if you played with those kind of restraints

I thought they already have that. Every time I bump someone the guy gets out, starts huffing, and the confrontation ends with a shotgun blast to the gut and me picking up $30.

Seriously though, while I obviously run red lights and swerve in an out of traffic, I do make a conscious effort to avoid accidents and pedestrian casualties and absolutely HATE when some stupid NPC walks into the crosswalk with MY green light[!] when I'm travelling at high speeds.
