It's good, but the hype for this game was overblown. I think R* sent all those game sites some of the whores from the game as well. I've already become bored with the missions and there's not really anything else to do outside of those. Graphics aren't revolutionary, gameplay's no different from any other GTA. I honestly have a hard time understanding why this game is considered so good. It doesn't do *anything* that's new or revolutionary at all. It's just GTA for a next gen system, period.

My CJ also looked just like Benny from City of God and seeing City of God made me love San Andreas even more.

And that fact right there...that the character could be different for everyone...took away from the game for me. In this one...Niko is Niko and that is it. There is no changing Niko's appearance, just his clothes, and it makes you think about the character so much more. I can't make Niko how I like...I have to learn to put myself in Niko's shoes, which makes the game that much more captivating. Maybe it's just me, though.

I think this is a great game if you enjoy sandbox games, but like many others I feel that it took a step back. This is not the GOAT in my opinion, as I found myself more drawn into games like KOTOR (I hate RPGS, but loved this game), and Ninja Gaiden (the original series and the new). I hope that R* will listen to their fans and implement some changes in the next iteration of this series, but still manage to keep casual gamers from getting tired of having to do repetitive things like eating, working out, building endurance, and etc..

I think when you consider the amazing multiplayer that goes along with the extensive single player, I believe it is.

You can definitely nit pick and pick apart the game and you can question why it got so many 10's either because of hype,bribery etc...

The graphics ARE revolutionary(blind as bat if you can't see it)
The gameplay IS better than previous GTA's.
The story and characters ARE much more intriguing than before.
There has NEVER been a city quite alive like GTA4's Liberty City.

Stupid to say this game doesn't deserve a 10. just stupid and next gen spoilage.

I PERSONALLY enjoyed Saints Row and Oblivion (in terms of "sand box" gaming) better and those games were out 2 yrs BEFORE GTA4 was released. If the GTA4 controls were better (specially the driving) and if they cleaned up the jagged edges a lil more, plus add more customization features (ie. something FUN to do w/ the money you make in the game) then MAYBE I would say it's on of the top 5 games in the couple of years...but IMO this isn't even the best game in it's genre...

But hey, to each his own...

Personally it's the best non sports game i've ever played but looking at it objectively I'd say it's in the top 5 or so of All Time.

I think that's a fair assessment. It has furthered the sandbox genre which is a mark of an all time game IMO.

On my hd this games amazing looking on ps3. do not know WHAT you are talking about?

I've played both the 360 version and ps3 version side by side and graphically the games a revolution on ps3 but very poor on 360 minus the good anti aliasing. i calibrated my hd specifically for the game and it's pretty amazing to look at...

i'm just saying that other games can not compare

Its a good game but not the GOAT.
Mass Effect and BioShock in my opinion were better games. Mass Effect with all of its flaws relating to textures loading really had a beautiful blend of story, graphics, and action. I like to say it was Halo with a script.

Even though I haven't finished the game Bioshock is the greatest game I've played.

Bioshock is probably the greatest game I've ever played...

...But no replay ability factor means it can't be the GOAT in my mind, because once you beat it, it's done. I never really had any interest in going back.

Everything but the graphics comment is true.

Graphically, this game is "good", but nowhere in the realm of "revolutionary".

Gears of War is an example of revolutionary graphics. This game is good graphically, but that's not what makes it special. All the other "stuff" is.
