    General public igornace strikes again!

Though someone there did post this comic...

Is that not the plot? What is it?

I tried the demo, and while I think it could be fun, I just had a hard time following the action. The screen just seemed cluttered and things were moving to fast for me. I felt like an old fart. I didn't really notice the story much at all, but if it's about killing God and angels then yeah, I'll definitely pass on it altogether.

Completed chapter IX and this is quickly becoming my favorite 3D action game ever.

Anyone have any clue on how long a playthrough of this game on Normal difficulty would take?

        I don't want to spend 60 bucks on it if it's ultra-short.

I got around 4 hours in and I am only to chapter 5. I think there is 16 chapters. So I am guessing around a 15 to 20 hour play through. Then much more to get all the weapons, moves, extras.

From a Sept. 29, 2009 preview of Bayonetta at Game Informer:

"While the developers strive to reach their goal of “infinity climax action,” the length of the story is anything but. Kamiya says Bayonetta will take 10 to 12 hours to complete – but he also says the team views a player’s first run through of the game as a warm-up lap. The real fun comes from mastering moves, striving for the Platinum rank (the game features a rating system similar to Viewtiful Joe), and breaking high scores. We have to wait until early next year to find out if Bayonetta achieves gameplay perfection, or if she ends up as just another witch with a bad hair day. But from what we’ve played so far, Bayonetta is looking mighty fine."

Going by Kamiya's statements, it appears the emphasis in playing through Bayonetta is not placed on exploration, but on improving your skills and perfecting your series of runs through the game. This isn't meant to be a one-playthrough-and-done game.

Do you guys know if the game has the option to listen to the game with Japanese dialoge and English subtitles?
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Only 10 to 12 hours. Wow I must move slow lol. Cause it is going to take me a good 4 or 5 hours more than that. Flawless what you think you put in to get to IX? I say around 6 or 8 hours ?

Just under 8 hours with 7 chapters to go. I replayed portions of a couple, because I didn't find all the LP record pieces. I will probably finish my first playthrough around 12-15 hours, but by no means will I be close to done. There's New Game+ (all your stuff will carry over and not just to Normal, but Hard and above too), tons of unlockables, secret bosses, Alfheim portals, improving your verses complete with a scoring system and online leaderboards. I will do another run through on Normal to get some techniques down better and experiment much more with the different weapon combinations, then tackle Hard. Can't get enough of this game and the combat. It has no peer when it comes to given visual and aural feedback to the player.

Nice. I might just have to pick this up then. I was going to try and hold off on buying a new game until Mass Effect 2 came up, but this one might be too hard to resist.

I started on easy to get the item. Apprently it makes normal a lot better to go through but I don't know what it does exactly.

Not bad. Bayonetta is one the most unique lead game characters introduced in a long while.

Not sure about the PS3 version, but the 360 version only allows you to change the language of subtitles.

Thanks flawless. That stinks. Playing games like Ninja Gaiden and Otogi with Japanese voices and english subtitles really drew you in.
