Re: Rock Band 2
To me, this is HUGE news...
Completely changes the way I play songs and adds the replayability factor into songs I've only played once or twice..
During his session entitled "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap: Design Lessons Learned from ROCK BAND," Harmonix's Dan Teasdale dropped a bit of information about an upcoming Rock Band 2 update.
According to the designer, user feedback indicated that some players wanted an option to view information on highest stars achieved in the game per song. With that in mind, gamers should expect a game update in the future.
"Just like we did with Rock Band 1's 'World Tour' rebalance," he said, "we're going to add a way to do this, not just in Rock Band 2, but in our future titles."
The news elicited a tiny, weak-sounding "whoo" from one person sitting in on the session; the game currently only lists high-score information per song. No further details (date, when we could expect the update) were mentioned. Teasdale did, however, call me out for my arm-wrestling skills in not one, but two slides. The gauntlet has been thrown.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four!What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Rock Band 2
One thing I'd like to see them add is what the new GH Metallica is doing with drums. Have the option to play the song like normal, but take off the drum chart. You can play whatever you like and the audio will play perfectly.
So it "removes" the drum track in essence but allows you to add your own.
Some of the drum charting in the game is terrible, and this would make the game a lot more fun.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Rock Band 2
Because apprently not knowing how many stars you have is more casual.
Rejected names:
"Teasdale showed a series of e-mail exchanges with notes on rejected titles for the game. Some were "too metal." Another was panned for implying the use of trumpets. Others were just bad. Here's a sampling:
* • Power Chords
* • Big Band Blowout
* • Metal Lords
* • I Want To Be A Rockstar!
* • Rock Band: World Tour
That last one was rejected — well, trimmed down — because it was felt that "This will never sell.""

A big problem I have with expert guitar is hitting 3-note chords. For whatever reason, I just can't get my fingers in the right spots and end up missing every single one of them.Ryan Spencer

Re: Rock Band 2
I could never do hard either. The speed on hard or expert doesn't bother me, I just can't hit the orange. I've practiced and practiced, and just can't do it well. If expert had the first four buttons, I'd jam right through it. LOL
I've hit the wall in Rock Band where I can't continue my World Tour without doing songs on Hard, and since I can't nail the orange button, my game is essentially over. Little disappointed that I just can't play the game through on medium like I would like, but oh well. Rock Band one went through this as well. I get that everything should get harder, but it limits the player who can't do it.
I do like the way GH: Metallica did things, you can beat it on any level and you have every single song unlocked at the start for free play. I hate having to enter the code everytime on RB2.Comment

Re: Rock Band 2
The 3 button chords will become second nature eventually, just like 2 button chords. The trickiest one for me is where you use your index, middle and pinky. I try to avoid lifting my ring finger as much as I can. The best piece of advice is to try to keep you fingers on the RYBO keys as much as you can. Treat that as your "home" instead of GRYB.Xbox Live Gamertag: MizzouBrentComment
