Lol, no doubt. Yeah I figured I had to have been way overleveled when the final bosses didn't even take a minute to beat. It was very anticlimactic. The bonus dungeon hasn't let me down though. The trash mobs are a lot tougher and with all the +XP gear I got the levels are coming in pretty quick.

Craziest grinding I remember was reading a guide for Legend of Dragoon and it recommended staying in the starting area till you got the main character to lvl 20 (you started at either 1 or 5) and learning like his first 3 or 5 additions. Crazy thought to me since the game always struck me as stingy with the experience.
BTW, your only enemy in that first area was a cute cuddly rabbit, lol.Last edited by Cyros; 05-17-2009, 12:35 AM.Comment

Sounds like you're getting ready to overlevel the dungeon, lol.

I probably am, but even at 150 it's still pretty tough, and this is just on normal difficulty. I already have to manually control my healer because the AI isn't competent enough to stay out of the way and keep the team up. I hate to imagine what Universe difficulty is like.
I overleveled in the main game pretty much by accident though. It's those side quests they have you going on require a lot of grinding for materials. There is one where you have farm a bird that drops an egg. Beating the bird gives a ton of XP (not to mention the bonus board), but the egg is a very very rare drop, so you could be stuck on that same mob for a long time without getting it, meaning you're gonna level a lot during that time.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Was up half the night beating the game. Normal difficulty was really easy but I might have overleveled. I beat the final boss at level at around level 110. Flawless have you done the bonus dungeons yet? I went into Cave of Seven Stars thinking it was going to be a cakewalk but it's pretty much night and day from the main game. Much much tougher and I have to micro-manage a bit. Good XP though, only been in 15 minutes and have leveled to 130.Highheat's O's Franchise

I guess I'll have to borrow this from my friend at some point whenever I get around to finishing Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, and starting Eternal Sonata.Comment

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Well, it's not like I have even started Eternal Sonanta, but I'd hate to play something better and come back to it and feel dissapointed....
Also, I won't be back in Texas till July anyways (Texas being where my friend is at).Comment

That's the final PA, I didn't get it because I followed the guide which is wrong, I'm talking after the game is complete.Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
How is this game compared to Lost Odyssey? I want to play LO, but there are a few things that are turning me off from the reviews. Any thoughts on either title?Comment

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Yeah, LO has the better story, SO has the better battle system.
I got to Gabriel Celeste in the Seven Star dungeon today and promptly got massacred. This was with 3 level 200s and one level 140. I can't level anymore cuz I don't have the right number of Battle Trophies, so I may have to tinker around with my lineup.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Star Ocean: The Last Hope
WHOOO!!! Finally finished the game last night. I received all the endings except for Crowe's and Faize's epilogues.. I don't know if I'm going to get into all the extra content or not, but the ending was really great. I enjoyed every minute of the game. Can't wait for the next RPG for the 360 to come along. Until then, I have Sacred 2 and the Orange Box to hold me over.
