As good as KH2's rendition of Dearly Beloved is, I think Birth By Sleep's version is even better. I'm sure it'll be on Youtube soon enough.

Just heard it today, on the game's main menu when first starting up.

The aforementioned Birth By Sleep version of "Dearly Beloved", the main Kingdom Hearts theme:

Ocarina of Time, to this day that game blows my mind. The music never gets old, especially the Spirit Temple music is one of my favorites of all time.

Metroid Prime. A lot of it wasn't exactly music by definition, it was more of an "atmospheric" soundtrack, but it really gave the game life.

Seriously, no one should post anything else, lest they wish to be embarrassed.

Love this and hate this. Love it because it sounds so cool but I hate it because I know exactly what it means(my ultimate demise). It's the perfect music to get you all tensed up for battle.

One of my favorite comments on the video:
"This song plays whenever my math teacher comes in the room."

Seriously, no one should post anything else, lest they wish to be embarrassed.

This is one of the most ignorant and close minded posts I've read on here in awhile, and I hang around the Madden and NCAA forums a lot, so I see a lot of them.

              A) Why would it be the end of the thread when the thread is to ask everyone what their own favorite video game music is? Right now I see closed to 100 posts in this thread disagreeing with you, so it's FAR from /thread.

              B) I'm guessing your post is supposed to imply that the game has the BEST music of all games.. Not sure how a game with only about 8 real songs in the entire game, not counting the score, has the best music, but okay.

              C) Exactly how do you plan to embarrass people based on a thread of opinion?

He must've missed the title of the thread, unless Favorite = Best nowadays.

Good stuff. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 was also like this.

Necrobump, but for a good reason: Baba Yetu (the above song) won a Grammy! The first videogame - related piece to do so.

So since this thread fell off the face of the earth, anyone have any songs to add to the list?

OK, I need to provide legitimate input here. I see I gave very weak comments moons ago when this thread was first around. Many songs incoming. I will mostly stick to more recent stuff since the thread is old, and it's also very much about past works.

But first off, Mega Man 2 has been mentioned, but my personal favorite track from that game is definitely the Bubble Man stage:

Uncharted hasn't been mentioned it seems, and I'm surprised by that. Both soundtracks by Greg Edmonson are quite good, so just a couple selections here:

Drake's Elegy (can't embed) -- This song works right as Drake at as his lowest point.

Nate's Theme -- The intro song for Uncharted.

Reunion from Uncharted 2 -- Another song that explains what it's about.

Jesper Kyd is another guy who did a great job with a big-time series. Here is my favorite Assassin's Creed song:

Bill Elm and Woody Jackson put together a great Read Dead Redemption soundtrack. My personal favorite is Born Unto Trouble

The best part about the Bionic Commando remake might be the soundtrack by Simon Viklund:

Momentous mentioned the work Nitin Sawhney did on Heavenly Sword way back when, and I second that notion. It's another soundtrack you just have to listen to throughout. Enslaved's soundtrack isn't quite as good, but Nitin did a good job on that one, too.

Lastly, Advent Rising is a really good one. I haven't listened to it in such a long time that I can't remember what my favorite songs were. Either way, hunt down that soundtrack by Tommy Tallarico if you can.
