The old school titles had the best music. I can't remember the specific iteration, but one of the classic NES mega man games had epic level soundtracks. The old shinobi ( the one with the spiderman bossfight) had great music, especially the Chinatown level. I used to love the opening start screen music also.

Some of the old castlevanias had epic music also. I can't think of any modern titles that can match the old school tracks.
