Unless you have a core group of three other friends and all of you have maxed out level 50 characters, I wouldn't recommend Borderlands: Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot to you. It isn't balanced properly and, since there is no normal XP awards or loot drops, you won't find your character improving as your struggle through the endless waves. It actually encourages you to leave the Underdome to go grind your character. All of the style and great music in the world can't save this add-on from the fact that it had the soul of Borderlands ripped out.

hard to disagree with that, it is disappointing that there's no loot drops or experience to be had in the Underdome. Once in the Underdome and fighting I thought it was actually a lot of fun, but yeah I think review is justified.

Next Borderlands DLC raises level cap

The biggest issue facing most Borderlands players has to be the level cap. When you reach level 50, what do you do next? Sure, you could start up a new character and do it all again, but what if you have each class maxed out? Well, then we think the technical term is: you're boned.

That won't be the case for much longer, as Gearbox's Jason Reiss recently popped on the company's forums to guarantee the most-requested feature for the game was indeed in the works. Not only will there be new DLC, but Reiss also confirms there's another update coming that "solves a bunch of issues." That's like two for the price of one, right? Wait, our math may be a bit off -- moving on!

There's no timetable for either the update or DLC at this point, but Reiss says we can expect a full announcement "soon."

I hope one of the things they update/fix is the hit detection on the rocket launchers. You can shoot the same dude 15 times with a rocket and not do any damage. Fire the rockets at your feet and you're dead. And yes I've tried shooting rockets at the enemy's feet for more splash damage and the result is only marginally better, the hit detection for launchers needs fixed.

having said that, can't wait for the new DLC and if they raise the level cap that will just give me more of an excuse to continue playing the game. Grinding through my second playthrough right now, and I only have two achievements left to get: reach level 50 and the "Braaaaaaaaains!" mission in the Zombie Island DLC. Once I get those, it will be the first game I got a perfect gamerscore on.

So I tried to get into this game again. Just as I started liking it I hit a pretty big wall. I've done the first few missions up to killing 9 toes. Things went mostly fine other than the dog things with him that didn't seem to want to die. Now my only missions available require level 10 but I'm level 7. I tried one and couldn't even get into the place cause apprently they have ridiculously good aim to be able to shoot under the wall,my shields (166) ran out in about 5 hits,grenades did no damage and I could only do 1-2 damage shooting at them,Phasewalked out of there asap. Went to level up but there's only level 2 Skag pups that are worth 1 XP.

What is it I'm supposed to do here? Pull a South Park and kill 10,000 Skag pups? There's no other missions and that's all I can find other than an ocasional level 3 or 4 pirate guy. Looking at a guide it says I shouldn't have to grind. There's no difficulty option apprently so I'm just stuck. Can't go online and get someone to drop a hacked gun for me either so that's no solution.

well, since you're so early in the game you could start over. I mean it doesn't take long at all to get to level 7 or Bone Head. If you were to start over, make sure you accept every mission you can as soon as possible so they are lower level when you do them.

If you're on 360, I can help you get through Bone Head so the rest of the game will open up to you.

I did do every mission soon as it came up. I checked another guide and think I missed something in the gully though,something about picking up a recorder. It's not a mission they give to you so I guess that's the problem. It mentions another one about a missing leg too.

I don't play online,that's why I mentioned the hack gun not being an option.

Have you taken other side jobs by using the bounty boards and certain individuals that work independent. I just beat the game last night and I did what seemed like every mission I could. I finished somewhere around level 31.

When I checked, I had only done a little over 60 percent of the side missions. Great game, but I like them more short and sweet. Well off to see can I get a few more achievements. You definitely get your monies worth in gameplay with this one.

Go back to people/the board (if it's up yet) and get more quests. there are enough quests that you don't need to grind. You're just not picking them up properly.

Those ARE the quests from the board + the Bonehead one. They're both level 10. Though I now see what the problem was as one of the level 10 quests was just talking to TK to get a level 7 quest. That doesn't make much sense but it's something doable now. Is the rest of the game backwards like that?

Yup that was what I needed to do. Now the main quest is 10 and 2/3 board quests are 13 so it's back in order since I'm at 11.

Ok, after we killed Nine toes my friend and I ran into a similiar problem, we had to lvl up more to kill him. Check the bounty board for other quests, if you cant get any more then go to the area you find and fight 9 toes. There are more lvled skags plus some other things to fight in there that give decent Exp. Dont forget to get the audio files in that area also. Just lvl. If I remember correctly I got some other missions from T.K. Baha.

God after all this time I remember this ****...7 days playing time really does effect you, lol.

Hasn't been for me. I have been consistently a few levels higher than the quests I am doing.
