Not very often, but every now and then I would see/play a bit of a game and just know it was going to be great. For the most part these are all Pre Internet so you had to either do homework and research, know someone who played it, or just plain luck and hope for the best. For the most part I just buy a system that I know I want. Don't make a bad decision.

I played NFL 2k as a demo in Toys R US and that was that, knew what I wanted for B-Day. Goldeneye well I was going to College and pretty much we all wanted to play the game at our benefit so I bought it. FF7 well who didn't wanna play that game with all the hype



N64= Goldeneye
PS1 = Final Fantasy 7
Dreamcast NFL = 2K

i bought the 360 for the next gen version of college hoops 2k7 having already owned the playstation2 version. i also wanted forza 2 (even though it was still months away). in the mean time i bought forza 1 since it was BC.

N64: Goldeneye
Xbox: Halo. I saw the game in action at a friend's house and was blown away.
360: Oblivion. I was going to get a 360 sooner or later, but Oblivion sped that up by about a year.

SNES = Street Fighter II

I think I was in gaming heaven as a kid when I heard about SF2 coming to console. That was a huge thing back in the day. Arcades were still alive and kicking. As a kid, I would have never imagined seeing such an arcade hit come home to the console.

Saturn/Dreamcast = Fire Pro

Ok I never bought the system for the game. But I almost considered it until I found out Fire was coming to PS1/PS2. Fire Pro rocks.
