I'm gonna pre-order on direct2drive and pre-load it right now.

Edit: Well, I'll pre-load it in about 10 hours I guess.

I'd like to know the answer to this question as well.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yeah, I wanted to buy and read them before the game released, but I procrastinated and just ended up not getting around to it.

I knew about the first one, but didn't realize there was a second one until last week, so I picked it up. Haven't started it yet, but the first one was awesome.

              Re: Dragon Age: Origins

I wasn't even aware of this game until this weekend, and after I saw the Trailer for it on the 360 Dashboard.

Is this game going to be anything like Oblivion? I want another good RPG and this looks like it may suffice.

I'll be getting it on the 360 as I'm kind of over the PC gaming stuff. It's just way more convenient to have games on the console and to play in front of my TV.

Seems pretty similar to Oblivion except it is group party adventuring rather than soloing.

Also tons of side quests and different branching storylines similar to Fable II.

A word of warning to some of you guys who are just discovering this game. It is going to be very, very different than Oblivion. Yes they're both RPG's, but this game is basically a polar opposite of Oblivion in terms of gameplay style. If you love Oblivion, you may hate this game.

This is very true. I don't like Oblivion at all, but Dragon Age is totally my style.

Maaaan, I am geeked up for this game! I am an old school rpger (Ultima, Baldurs gate 2, Wizardy 8 etc...).

                            First Character:

                            Dalish Elf
Name-Oryndael (Translation-Wind Rider, he who is as swift as the wind. I am making this up as I go.)

Weapon - Elven Bow, name Nenya (Translation -quick/sudden death)

                            Class - Ranger

Favorite Pass time - Shooting an arrow into the air and listening as it sings a sweet song of death in the wind, right before it hits its target.

                            Second Character:

Name-Gideon (Translation -Hewer, he that cuts down)

Weapon- Ax, name Otis (from the movie "Frailty")

                            Class - Warrior

Favorite Pass time - Removing the heads of my foes from their worthless bodies, watching the battle field flow crimson with their blood, then hearing the lamentations of their women.

As you can see I am a class A nerd (at times) and I am so ready for this game.
