LOL, c'mon dawg, you're overreacting just a bit. I was afraid when it happened also, but that's just the devs messing with you. It adds another element to the game, which is part of its unpredictability. Looks like they fooled you good.

Lol, stupid design decision? That was brilliant.

Sounds to me like someone can't take a joke...

why would you instantly reset your console when it happened. i don't know about you, but if something "freezes" on me, my intitial reaction is to let it be for a second to see if it fixes itself.

Because I've had to grab 3 extra 360's for that exact freeze up. If something is chattering and making horrid screeching sounds, that's usually the hardware having too many things going on at once, which can easily fry circuits. The longer you leave it sitting there, the more damage it can do (I'm a tech support rep in my day job).

Leaving hardware sitting there that has obviously malfunctioned just to see if it comes back can do more damage than good. And you're right--I can't take a joke of something that acts like faulty hardware on a console known for being faulty.

Silly me, that I would rather them come up with something more in line with distorted view or something that looks in-game and not fried-video-card.

Of course the game is so good that after a week I started over again and tromped through it, but it's head scratching to me on several fronts why somebody would just let a console that's screeching and flashing pink lines all over sit there, or why that would be something a software developer does by choice.

To each his own, I guess.

Here's a GREAT video showing what PhysX adds to the game:

Same here, I was playing this on my PS3 and I was like "NOOOOO, my PS3 has died" so I decided to see if was a onetime glitch kinda sat there in shock until I realized it was part of the game and laughed.

Are u guys not busting his chops cuz of who he is @ OS? Seriously dude, it lasted all of 2 seconds!? It was over b4 i knew what happened then realized part of game. I'm sorry u had a tough time with it but calling it a horrible design choice is a little extreme. Itsactually kind of funny that sum1 actually thought there was sumthing wrong and u did all that u did. I'd just chalk it up as a duh moment and move on.

It's cool that Sony coughed up the money for this, but who cares. I didn't care too much for these challenge rooms in this game.

In the ‘Heart of Darkness’ FreeFlow Combat map, players will battle a mob of relentless and maniacal enemies at the Arkham Pumping Station. Even the most seasoned Batman: Arkham Asylum player will enjoy stepping into the boots of Batman to take down increasingly difficult waves of insane inmates. In the ‘Hothouse Prey’ Invisible Predator™ map, players will have to rely on their Predator instincts to silently and effectively take down enemies at the Abandoned Glasshouse.

The new content will be available beginning Sept. 24 as a free download on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace in Europe, onPlayStation Network ONLY in North America.
Batman: Arkham Asylum is a 3rd-person action game powered by the Unreal Engine 3, that exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum – Gotham's psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane.

So I take it it isn't as easy to get a Europe account on XBL as it is on PSN?

I completed it a few days ago and it's an amazing game. Honestly, one of the best games to come out this year. I'm doing the challenges right now and their pretty frustrating.
