Purchased this yesterday at Target for $37. Looking forward to popping this in the 360 when I get back home.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Woo, what an experience. Best Batman game to date (which isn't saying much, though).
But, really, this was a great video game. I enjoyed the uniqueness in every boss fight (with the exception of Bane as it becomes repetitive as you play deeper into the game). I would have liked more of the boss fights to involve a bit more button mashing to really get me working, but making it a giant action puzzle is nice.
The last two big fights are ridiculous and left my thumbs aching. Really have to apply everything you learned about combos, evading, and using your weapons at the opportune times.
Great experience. One of those games I probably wouldn't mind playing through again except that I have too many other titles to get through (Borderlands, you're up!)."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I picked this up and started playing again and now can't put it down. I was up until almost 2 am last night knowing good and well I had to be to work at 8!
I'm sure most have finished the game by now, but I'll put my questions in a spoiler just in case.
SpoilerWhen do I get the tool to be able to open the rooms with the 'electric' doors/barriers?
Also, how do break the weak spots that are higher up? I've got the gel to break ones that are eye and ground level, but I don't know if I can obtain a different gel upgrade or if I will get a tool (how you get the bat claw) to be able to get into the ones higher up. Thanks!A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I just got past the second Scarecrow stage -- that walk down the corridor was pretty freaking trippy! -- and was just starting to kind of get frustrated seeing all the riddles, items, etc. I've had to leave behind because I can't get through the electric doors. Plus, goodness knows with this aging mind I've got there's no way I'm gonna remember where all those are, LOLA negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I just picked up this and Fifa 10 today. I only played it for about 15 minutes but it seems like a game I can mess with. The combat is pretty ill, I like how Batman beats down enemies. The graphics are pretty hot as well. At the beginning of the game I was sitting there thinking, "Why isn't this guy moving?" I felt like a moron when I realized that it wasn't a cutscene lol.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
I know I'm late to the party, but proud to say that last night I finished the game!! I've missed about 6-8 Riddler's trophies and Chronicles, so I will definitely be going back to find those and play some of the challenge maps. Plus I've GOT to figure out “Arkham’s biggest mystery” lol.
As someone that has predominately been a sports gamer and has begun to shift to the non-sports genre over the 6 months or so, I am blown away by this game. I'm not in position or have any credentials to rate games, but in my opinion this has to be in consideration for game of the year right?
The story, the graphics, the weapons, the puzzles, the combat, everything is just unbelievable. I've never really had the patience to stick through a game like this, but this game was a well rewarding experience. And without spoiling anything, it is all but set up for a sequel!SpoilerThe mention of Two-Face was enough, but then I got Killer Croc with the Titan box post credits.
I picked this one up months after release, but if there is a follow-up it will definitely be a must get for me. I now see why there's a 100+ pages in this thread! If this is the type of stuff I've been missing out on in the non-sports genre, then you can call me a changed man!Last edited by 65South; 12-09-2009, 11:14 AM.A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman has become the first multi-platform game to sell more copies on the PS3 vs the 360. I guess people really love their Joker challenges.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum
Surprised how much I'm enjoying this game. It reminds me a lot of Splinter Cell/Tomb Raider. Two games which I love a lot. I'm not through yet but I'd definitely get the sequel. Too bad most super hero games are garbage.Comment
