Yeah, I've played the Batman challenge levels...repetitive and boring.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is almost upon us, so publishers Warner Bros. have stepped up their love affair with all things PlayStation with the announcement of a special, Bat-themed tie-in with PlayStation Home.

Anyone purchasing the game on PS3 will be given a free unlock for PlayStation Home, giving them the option of decking out their apartment to look like the Batcave. And not Dark Knight's "office space" batcave, either, a proper, dingy batcave.
The game's out on PS3 on August 25, with the batcave unlockable as quickly as you can get your copy home and download it.

For the amount of time that the single player would take to complete, seems like a much better value to just rent for 2 weeks

                  Game Informer Review - (9.5,9.5)

"THE BEST BATMAN GAME EVER MADE"

+ Inhabitants of Arkham Asylum feel like living, breathing characters. Converse w/ one another, interact with Arkham's geometry, and create their own self-contained stories.

+ Melee system highlights brutal efficiency. Even when odds are stacked against you, you feel as if you can take everybody out.

+ Areas of the Asylum are blocked off until new gadgets are obtained (zelda/metroid style).

                  - The final confrontation is a MAJOR letdown. A good idea gone to waste. In this scene an outrageous concept is squashed by Batman's mortality. The fight that follows is easily the game's worst.

Goes on to say: "Regardless, Batman: AA is this year's BioShock...delivers an adventure unlike any other"

Batman: Arkham Asylum is not only the best Batman game to come out on consoles, it's a contender for Game of the Year.

Thats a awesome review, but even if that part about the ending is true....they couldve excluded it, or worded it different...but hey, if its getting a 9.5 im guessing everything else made up for it..

LOL....exactly my thoughts, the only half-decent batman game I can remember is the original one way back on NES based on the movie with Keaton

                            Re: Batman: Arkham Asylum

This game is a must buy for me. The fact the voices and writers from the animated series are in make it that much more worthwhile. I have become somewhat of a collector over the last couple of years, and this game i think provides a small milestone on how a superhero can be done right.

It might not be the longest game, and it might be linear; hell it will probably have issues like any other game in existence, but I have always enjoyed Batman (comics, most of the movies), I loved the Animated series, and i played the demo a good 10 or 11 times before realizing i would enjoy the game for what it is.

My rose-tinted glasses are on, and i realize this. But sometimes a game just has that 'something' which you don't usually get going through the motions with most games. This one does it for me.

I love the demo - can't wait to play the rest of this baby. The final room is fun - I've done it differently each time I've played the demo.

Lies! Batman: The Animated Series for SNES was the best!
