So I've never played a TW game, but want to get into one before the new one comes out this year. Is this the one to get? Since the new one coming is Rome, I'll wait on that genre. It's between this and Shogun 2. What say you?!

It really depends on which time period/area you want to play in. Not a heavy fan of gunpowder, so I stick with Rome/Medieval II/Kingdoms.

I'd still be playing Medieval II if they re-released it on current op systems,
that game is amazing.

That's what I decided to get. Still learning, but seems pretty good so far. I got the stainless steel mod that I heard was really good. I plan on trying that out after i learn what i'm doing.

I miss playing that game so much. The English are pretty easy to roll with, they have fantastic archers and their location is a huge advantage.
Can't remember who controls the city of Constantinople at the start, I think the Byzantines, but their a fun challenge once your comfortable at playing the game. Literally stuck in between the Catholics and the Muslims, fun times when holy wars are called haha!

I was just reading this on PC gamer....I loved Sid Meiers Gettysburg and this looks fantastic!! maybe its the tilt shift view that gives it more of an authentic feel...



While on the topic of civil war games...here's a little known game called Scourge of War it's not a pretty game but it gets the job done...
