Release date announced for Japan:

"SEGA has dated yakuza adventure Ryu Ga Gotoku 3, the fourth entry in the franchise known as Yakuza abroad. It will be out February 26 for ¥7,980 (US$84).

Those who pre-order will get a copy of Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 night club mag Kamutai, which includes an urban map pointing out all the hotspots in the hostess water trade."

will english subtitles be available? I mean even if the gameplay is really great, but we dont understand the dialogue, that will suck.

Yup. The first game has english voice acting,the second has subtitles with every instance of you replaced by ya and every instance of your or you're replaced by yer. Kinda takes away from a few scenes.

Speaking of Yakuza, I just picked up part 2 but I cant play it yet. I have a japanese ps2, but I bought the American version of Yakuza. I'm going to buy an American ps2 this weekend. I bought the game about a month ago and its just sitting there because I keep procrastinating and not buying the American Ps2.

American release of next Yakuza titles is questionable.

"...Perhaps in part due to a poor release schedule, that franchise has failed to make any sort of a dent commercially (in the USA), despite a generally positive commercial review.

With Yakuza Kenzan! being out in Japan for almost a year and Yakuza 3 right around the bend, neither with an announced American release date, we got in touch with Sega about the future of the franchise abroad. The answer Sega gave us does not bode well, saying "We currently don't know what the future of the Yakuza franchise is for North America". The rep we talked to did say, optimistically, that he hoped the games would continue to be released in the US..."

It would be weak if they didn't bring it to North America... Though I guess there's always the option to import it. That weapons trailer is... Enough to sell the game right there. Just put that in a TV commercial in the USA.
