Re: Mass Effect 2
how did you play through in 34 hours and only get one dude killed? was your ship fully upgraded too? I will eventually play through again as a different shep - but upon reflection there were certainly things mass effect 1 did better. I hope bioware realizes what they are and kind of splits the difference. The choices in this one were not nearly as hard for example. Remember killing the arachnid alien or setting it free? That was a real dilemma with no 'correct' answer and a good choice of either paragon or renegade ...I never got that this time around really. In fact, renegade choices were usually just being flat out mean or a dick instead of "I'm going to do it my way" style. Being a renegade in the first didn't mean being a jerk all the time. It was more kurt Russel swagtastic.
There were also times in the 1st where using a sniper rifle was beneficial in the way it is in real life ie. killing from distance; the levels and environments were never big enough or open enough to truly need that weapon in the way it's intended to be used.
I love the game though and think it was fantastic, I just hope they don't continue too much in the same direction, and realize they should add some of 1's strengths as far as design goes.
The 34 hours probably had more to do with me just flying around to different planets, doing the side missions, mining them for minerals, and just leaving the 360 on at times.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I'm almost kind of proud that I got everyone through without reading anything or seeing anything on the internet...because after I did it, i saw that inside xbox where I saw how making different decisions along the way could really have changed everything. It was cool how you had to pick the right people for the job or it would screw some things up.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
wow, the way I picture a complete playthrough that fast is skipping all dialogue and never really stopping/walking or talking to people on the ship. I think my playthrough was around 57 hours...I did everything, talked to all the crew and had every upgrade in the game that you can possibly get on one playthrough.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I can already see that there will be a lot of people that hate the Firewalker missions. it seems you can not save while your in the vehicle and you can get out of it either. the mission I'm on doesn't seem to have check points and on Insanity, you die rather easily.
I think I've died more times in the first few attempts with this DLC than I did the entire game on Insanity. lolComment
