If this game felt like it was missing anything, then I would see your point but a lot of this stuff is content that in the past would never come out at all if they weren't able to finish it in time for the release.

I'm not sure, I'll have to check. Whatever number it is it won't accurately reflect my actual play time though. I get distracted easily and I'll pause the game or idle, or fall asleep with the game on. I imagine it's pretty high because of that.

I wish there was more time spent fighting. A lot of the side quests just didn't do it for me. The combat is done so well and in my opinion there were too many side quests that didn't involve it. Whenever I was in a fight I hoped it'd never end.

They didn't really draw me in like the ones in the first one did either (for example, the Helena Blake or biotic commune quests in ME1). I missed the Admiral calling in for help from time to time.

Still, I don't have a lot to complain about, it was a good continuation of the main story, the combats and visuals were excellent. Very much looking forward to importing my renegade Shepard and playing it again.

Mass Effect 2 'Equalizer Pack' DLC available tomorrow

The RPG smiths at BioWare have La Forge'd a new set of DLC items for Mass Effect 2, including the fashionably next-gen Archon Visor seen above. As it's being delivered outside of the in-game Cerberus Network tomorrow, the "Equalizer Pack" will cost 160 MS Points (or 160 BioWare points if you're on PC).

Aside from the Visor add (it reduces the recharge time of Shepard's powers), the pack also offers the Capacitor Helmet for faster shield recharge, along with the Inferno Armor, a once pre-order bonus that increases tech and biotic damage and gives you an "edge in negotiations."

I thought the whole point of the Cerberus Network was for piddly stuff like this to be free. Though I don't expect many sales here especially since most people that'd care enough to buy it would be finished by now with no missions to do.

I don't even want more content. I want them to let go of 2 and be working on 3 so that the gap between 2 and 3 is nowhere near as long as 1 and 2.

There's more "premium" downloadable content on the way for EA's Mass Effect 2, and while this newest pack doesn't introduce a new character, it does have you playing John Connor over five missions.

The pack is called "Overlord", the entire thing set on a single planet as you try to shut down a dangerous enemy AI, who looks like the lovechild of Tron and SHODAN. Hope you like shooting at robots!

It's going to be a $7 DLC. I'll pass, that generally means it's only going to be an hour so. Even though they said biggest DLC for ME2. I want something more, 3-4 hours would be perfect. Fallout 3 did it this way and nailed it four out of the five DLC's they had.

                            Gamespot: Overlord DLC Impressions

According to executive producer Casey Hudson, Overlord is the "biggest downloadable content pack yet" for Mass Effect 2. Available in June for 560 points (£4.60, $7), it adds in five new uncharted worlds, amounting to a fully voiced, self-contained episode that can be played either before or after completion of the game proper.

Exploration and vehicle platforming with the jumping, hovering Hammerhead tank is one focus of the Overlord DLC, similar to that found in the Firewalker pack but on larger maps. Hudson calls it "a throwback to how some of the exploration worked in [the first] Mass Effect" with the all-terrain Mako tank and expansive planets to explore.
The early stages of the DLC are vehicle and combat heavy, but emphasis shifts to storytelling later on, with Mass Effect 2's signature not-so-straightforward moral choices factoring in as the nature of the supposed rogue AI is revealed.

Faced with destruction, the AI hijacks Shepard's vision, overlaying the environment with Tron-ish virtual reality grids and computerized projections of its memories. This is the most striking of the visual treats provided by the Overlord DLC, which is intended to offer something "new and different" to the main game. Overlord in general appears polished, though, with the new water surfaces on the planets and the crashed, partly flooded geth ship looking particularly good.

Story between Mass Effect 2 and ME3 to be told through DLC

“We have a bunch of packs that are in the works right now,” he said. “So, for the time being there’s going to be a continued stream of DLC for people.

“We’ll start to have packs that’ll tell the story between Mass Effect 2 and 3. But beyond that we kind of have to see how people are responding to what we have and go from there.

“It probably won’t be for quite a few months that we talk about Mass Effect 3″.

They need to learn to make better DLC's. DLC for both this and Dragon Age have been sub par. Way to short, and not at all interesting. They need to take a page from Bethesda, their DLC's were great and well worth the money. I love this game to death, but I won't be purchasing their DLC unless I hear it's longer than 45 minutes.
