I finally picked this up Saturday evening and I love it. The story is engaging and fun,it has been awhile since I piced a game up and had trouble putting it donw. I could have played all day non stop yesterday. Kinda has a Star Wars or Star Trek feel to it. Great, great game.I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me!

SpoilerHave a high enough Paragon/Renegade score to pick the Paragon/Rengade option (left side of dialogue wheel) during that cutscene. They'll both still remain loyal to you.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Just wanted to pop in and say how awesome this game is. If any of you have not played it yet (or the first one), you are really missing out on a masterpiece of our collective hobby.
First of all, I have NEVER played an RPG. I play some FPS, but mainly just sports sprinkled with an occassional "action" game. When I heard "space RPG" I thought: nerd alert. However, if that is true, tape my glasses and buy me suspenders because I'm Steve friggin Urkel over this game/series. When I played ME1, I was sucked into the story telling of this game like never before. As I have tried to explain to others, it's like a movie, but better because you actually care. You have the impact on the characters development, relationships, and story outcome, and knowing these decisions will effect future games, it really makes you hunker down and make thoughtful decisions.
Like others, I was a little overwhelmed with the inventory control for ME 1, but this has been handled expertly in ME 2. While I originally liked the ammo system (or lack thereof) in ME 1, I actually prefer the new system because A) I never seemed to be lacking the supply, and B) when I would run out of ammo on a certain weapon during battle it would cause me to use a different strategy while I used a different gun for the remainder of the fight. Not a huge deal, but it really gives you a sense of how diverse the gameplay experience can really be.
Where this series really hits its stride is the universe. The ME universe is so well thought out and detailed that you really feel like you are living in it. From the backstories of the different races to the unbelievable detail in the "planet information," you really get a sense of the history of the universe and small side stories that occurred before humans ever became a part of it. Couple that with the morality undertones of the entire story, including racism, the genophage, humans trying to earn the respect of the rest of galaxy, etc., and you have a DEEP experience that really defies description.
I've never really connected with a game like I have with the first two intallments in this series, and I look forward to finishing Commander Shephards storyline in Mass Effect 3.Comment

SpoilerTo add on to what was said earlier, if you don't have a high enough score at the time, you can come back and talk to the person who is unloyal to regain their loyalty.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
BioWare has dated the long-promised and recently teased final Mass Effect 2 DLC mission, "Mass Effect: Arrival," for release across Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Bioware.com (for PC) on Tuesday, March 29. The add-on will be available for $7 (£5.49) or the equivalent platform currency.
Leading players into this holiday's Mass Effect 3, "Arrival" will see Commander Shepard "sent to the edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative who may have evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion." Admiral Hackett (voiced by Lance Henriksen) will make a return appearance.
