never finished ME1. Not sure if i'll take the Shrinkwrap off ME2 until I do.

Yeah, i'd hold off SoMiss. Especially to have the opportunity for your decisions to be acknowledged in the ME2.

Good to hear that the initial reviews are very positive.

I'm hesitant to actually read them (I don't want to know anything about the story/features of this [or Bioshock 2]), and since the original game is probably my favorite Nextgen game I'd buy the game regardless but it's always nice to see that folks liked it.

Hopefully it will earn a place next to ME1, Bioshock, Uncharted 2, and Fallout 3 on my Nextgen podium.

I know what you mean, I've been holding off reading too much stuff because I don't want to spoil the game too much. I did watch a stream but saw some potential spoilers so I turned it off real quick. The thing thats been holding me off is I'm beating ME1 again with a new char.

I only heard one big spoiler. Didn't make sense though and seems like a giant plot hole,have to check the end of ME 1 again but no one knows what happens if you don't take Wrex so have to wait.

One of the videos on the dashboard is a huge spoiler if you haven't been watching or reading everything. Its the Enemies of ME2.

Looks like I'll be twiddling my thumbs for the next few weeks waiting to play this. Can't wait.

Good to hear the early reviews are positive but I never really had a doubt this game would be anything less than amazing.

So...if I wanted to complete all the mineral quests in a new game+ play through..i'd have to finish the entire game again just to have it register for next game it sounds like? :/...Hope not...I won't be able to pick the game up for another week...so I guess I have time to play it through again..but I have a feeling I will be bored out of my mind.

edit: is it worth getting the LE of Mass Effect 2? I'd be getting it mostly for the in game stuff...but the art book sounds kind of interesting to me.

Nope but the good thing is that I only have a full day of classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and they don't start until 12:30 so I'll have plenty of time to play it. I'll probably be up until 3 or 4 in the morning everyday next week.

I've been seeing the review scores, but I haven't read any of the reviews themselves, or looked at any trailers or vids for at least the last few months. I know a couple of the new characters names, but I don't really know much about their back stories.

I read everything there was to read about Dragon Age before it came out, so although I wasn't spoiled in terms of the plot, all of the characters were totally familiar to me when I played that game. That did take some of the fun of discovery out of the game. I didn't wan't to make the same mistake with ME 2.

It feels strange and exciting to be coming into this game-a game that I know will be for me a top 5-10 all time great-almost totally unspoiled.

Yes that's correct and you probably can't get the LE. Gamestop and Amazon are both sold out and Best Buy etc.,well the Futureshop (owned by same people as Best Buy) here is only getting 2.

My 360 completely tanked, warranty was out so I had to get a new one (or pay over 100 for an xbox that had a huge amount of problems). Downside is I may have to go through the entire game again (i just finished a playthrough where I did everything, finished level 56). I don't really have the time to beat it before 2 comes out, don't know what I am going to do. I started a speed playthrough but I don't know, I have a lot of work and school stuff going on.

I have the first game, never played more than an hour or so of it. Judging by the hype, I missed out on something good.

Planning on beating the first then going straight into the second, so I don't forget any of the game's plot details.

this was one small contention of the ign review was warning new people that it's a better experience having played 1.

I can't understand how someone would buy 2 having not played 1...if they do they'll probably go out and get 1 used after just for more ME. I just don't know how anyone would deprive themselves of such a good game. Plus if they were to do it backwards like this, it will make the 1st dissapoint some what after player a much improved sequel.
