Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerGlad I upgraded!
Though Jack died during the mission. Not sure why, I had no direct input in that, but if anyone was going to die, Jack would be one of my top choices.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Sucks for PS3 gamers that they can't play the first game but the interactive comic seems pretty nice. Hopefully they have it for the 3rd game as it allows for replaying the game with making quick choices in the comic instead of replaying the previous title.
Also I would read up on the 1st book, Revelation which is a prequel to the 1st game and the Mass Effect comic which is between the 1st and 2nd game. If not, I would at least recommend to spend some time with Mass Effect Wiki.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerOr did you lose her loyalty withe the whole Miranda conflict? Loyalty affects the outcome too, as well as pairing characters to assignments that fit them.Comment

2 weeks from Tuesday. 2 weeks from Tuesday.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerYou can lose loyalty that way? I guess thats what did it, then. I chose Miranda. I did do the loyalty mission (you'd have to be crazy not to), the conflict happened right after. I didn't have the paragon points to quell the situation, unfortunately.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerI had the points (goody goody) but I believe the trick is to do Miranda's mission first and then Jack's mission afterward to recover her loyalty that is lost if you don't pick her.

Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerHuh. I did Miranda's mission first, do you mean Jack right after? Because I'm pretty sure I did a few in that time between the two. Glad I had enough points to solve the Legion/Tali dispute, though.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Looking at the command menu, I was "blocked", as it displays on a team member when they are knocked out. Very frustrating, as it happened during 2 boss battles, and one encounter with 2 large mechs. In that last scenario, I got dislodged by a rocket, but still frustrating.
You need to do both missions before the incident occurs so that other idea doesn't work.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerOops! I had it backwards. The trick was apparently that you need to play Jack's first. When they fight afterwards, they say to take Jack's side and then go do Miranda's mission to get her loyalty back.
According to Goh, that doesn't work though (I can't completely remember how the scene played out). Like I said, I had the points in Paragon, so this is going off of something I read.
EDIT: Thinking about it, I believe Goh is right. The fight occurs after you do both loyalty missions (kind of like a build up of tension). So I guess you are forced into using the paragon route or eating loyalty for a character if you don't have the points (which makes sense). Sorry...it's been awhile.
In any case, the lack of loyalty on Jacks part is your culprit.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I believe some enemies have the ability to block power usage. I also think it shows up as being blocked when it's not a good idea to use it. Like targeting an enemy that has a shield with warp.
You have direct input on it all.
You need to do both missions before the incident occurs so that other idea doesn't work.
As for determining the outcome of the final mission, I guess I just took too long. If what goh says is correct, it is impossible to carry both Miranda and Jack into the final mission with loyalty.Comment
