Well, only if you don't have your character at or near max paragon/renegade (I think it's 80% or higher...might be full though). If you are a full paragon or renegade character you can save it (I think you can intimidate with a full renegade, I know you can persuade with a full paragon).

Ah, I suppose that's correct.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Also, if you are looking to find a workaround I know plenty of people were discussing this way back when. There were some combinations used at the end that supposedly allowed everyone to survive if not all members were loyal (not sure of the accuracy of any of them though). You might want to look around to see if you can find one (if you are trying to grab the achievement or just want to get the "good" ending).
SpoilerAs I recall, the key thing is to not make non-loyal members leaders or have them in your party in the final sequence. I'm sure there's more to it though.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I'm like you though....just want a good experience. After talking up the game a few posts back, I'm playing again (it'll be my second playthrough on my "real" character). We'll see how it goes (I tend to lean towards trying to keep everyone around though, so I can see what becomes of them in the next game).Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
Huh? I used warp on shielded enemies all of the time, to great effect. That's beside the point, I couldn't move or shoot. Even after directing my squadmates to win the battle, nothing.
As for determining the outcome of the final mission, I guess I just took too long. If what goh says is correct, it is impossible to carry both Miranda and Jack into the final mission with loyalty.
No it's perfectly possible. Stop the initial situation or have 100% later and you can earn their loyalty back.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
SpoilerIf you go into the incident between the two without enough paragon/renegade points you have to pick a side, and thus losing the loyalty of the one you went against. However, you can go back to that person later on if you've built up your paragon/renegade score and talk to them to regain their loyalty.
It may ruin romance options, but you'll still have everybody's loyalty.Comment

Concerning Miranda/Jack & Tali/Legion loyalty:

Though that seems less viable, as I had enough paragon points to resolve the Tali/Legion issue as it came, but even at the end of the game I tried get Jack back talking, to no avail, as I was interested in her post-mission dialogue.Comment

I love this game. I need to go buy the first one and play through it again. I didn't fully grasp the depth of the series until ME2.Comment

This might not be new to everyone but I finally found out who did the music for the launch trailer

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Mass Effect 2
I got this game for Christmas and I must say I'm having a blast
I'm a little past the mission where you explore the collector ship (I really wanna kill the Illusive man). If I just keep ploughing through only the main story (which I don't do) how long will it take to finish the game?
Also, just so I know, if you die at all through actually doing the suicide mission, is that why you die? Or is it through a badass cutscene?Last edited by Gocanada; 01-04-2011, 01:26 PM.Comment
