After John died I went through the 5 stages of grief

1. Denial - I sat there and said to myself "they really aren't going to kill off the main character are they?"
2. Anger - I went to the government building in Blackwater and started shooting any law enforcement I saw.
3. Bargaining - I wanted to start all over and do everything that would gain me honor in hopes that it wouldn't end the way it did
4. Depression - I at one point didn't feel like continuing the story as Jack so I was going to give up the game
5. Acceptance - I finally accepted the cards that were dealt and I finished up a few challenges as Jack and will eventually get the last 1.5% needed for 100% completion.

Having not yet played this game, is there anything (presentation, cover system, controls, crosshairs, game flow, etc.) the GTA series can/should pick up on that this game did really well?

Also, I'm considering only renting this (at least for now). Can the game be beat in that kind of time, or is this game more sandbox-esque ala GTA?

I've played it for like 14 hours and am only like 35% done. This would be a Gamefly style rental only I think, unless you have oodles of time on your hands.

Nah, I don't have that much. Thanks, I may just borrow it from my friend when I go back to school like I did with Uncharted. Or if it really is that long, I may buy it if I indeed like it. I just need to give it a test run is all.

The game is roughly the size of a GTA game. So in other words, a rental would not even come close to doing the game justice, nor could you finish it in a week (unless you have an unbelievable amount of free time).

I see this game as basically a GTA game in a different setting. The set up and gameplay is pretty much the same. So GTA could pick up on a several things, mainly improved, tighter controls. Also the the way stranger missions are handled is pretty cool. Challenges and outfit unlocks are a great addition to the sandbox.

Just saw quite possibly the funniest thing ever. Was on the train, and it was giving me various shots of my point of view, the side of the train etc. It finally went to looking at the train from the front. Next thing I know this guy on his horse decides to walk onto the tracks, and the train runs over his horse and it blows up into a million pieces. That made my day.

I have a question about finding outfits peices.

I'm looking for the one in theives landing, I don't want to know where it is cause I want to find it myself (not the one you can buy btw) but does a little icon come up or something when you get close? I searched for over an hour in the highlighted area and nothing came up.

This might help you out a little. All of the outfit pieces that you need to find are in chests that you need to open. You are not just going to run over the item and pick it up.

Yeah, and the chests look exactly like the ones in the safe houses that you get ammo from.

So, would this game be considered an RPG? It seems like the thick line that used to be between RPG's and action games are geting blurrier and blurrier.

Action Shooter. The only thing it has in common with an RPG is that you are playing a role (like nearly every game ever made), but that's not what's meant when people say Role Playing Game. When people today say RPG they mean games where you level up to get stronger, in depth stats, armor & weapon collecting, diverse story with dialogue options, etc.

No, it's not an RPG. It's a 3rd Person Action/Shooter like the GTA games are.
