I'm curious to know what the controls will be on PS3. The one thing I didn't like with GTA was having to use L2, R2 to aim and shoot. I'd much rather use L1, R1.

My 360 is on its way back...I think it should be here on Tuesday...I have the day off too, should be a great day! I'm going to call the UPS warehouse here and see if they'll hold it there so I can just pick it up early in the a.m. instead of wait for the truck to come by (I think I'm the last stop on their route, at least it always seems like I am)

Hey guys! I'm usually only found at the sports forums, but after seeing the TV trailer, this game has me very interested.

I've always loved the Old West,(see my sig), and needless to say the graphics look simply mind-blowing. I may----MAY-----just trade in The Show 10 for this.

Now, this would be my first ever FPS style game. They've never interested me before, and games with stories never appealed to me. But like I said, this game just sorta grabbed me when watching the trailer...

Something totally different for me to try. So, if I get this, don't be annoyed if I flood this forum with stupid questions, ok? Lol...

well, you're gonna be disappointed if you expect a fps, since this is third person. other than that, this game should be amazing, but you'll probably have an inbox full of death threats from many here for even hinting at getting rid of the show.

See, I am new at this. I didn't know the difference between an FPS and a third person, haha.

So is it like a movie somewhat? A role player? That'd be even better!!!

As far as The Show, I won't go there. I have my reasons for wanting to trade it in....ssshhhh.......

Damn I completely missed the gameplay on justintv. At least someone made a couple gifs so I got an idea there. Looks pretty damn smooth.

Some impressions from someone at NeoGAF. From what I read he's not a western fan and has been tired of the GTA games as of late. The game is just as expected, GTA IV: Western with slightly better controls and prettier graphics. He's playing the PS3 version and framerate is good, not alot of pop in but seeing alot of jaggies on his 46'' Plasma. The PS3 version also uses Gamespy for it's online play. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing as I don't use my PS3 for online play at all.

Now onto the impressions he's posted.

Just started a mission that's taking me traveling across the plains to another town. No popup, great framerate, really quite a vast and gorgeous representation of the world as it was then.

I'm starting to toy around with random gunplay in town and ****ing around with the authorities. Did GTA4 enemies react when short in specific areas, like the knee or arm? I shot a dude's horse, and it crumpled to the ground quickly, sending its rider off the front. I nailed him once in the right knee, and he fell to the ground. He then, got up one leg, knee bent, turned and fired at me over his shoulder. I took out the other knee, and he started crawling around, pulling himself around with his arms.

So, being Wanted is a lot more dynamic and engaging than it seemed to be in GTAs past.

Getting attention in certain areas causes a local authority to get involved, sometimes with a quick cutscene (I saw the first town's local sheriff pop out when he got the call that someone (me) was shooting up the cows on the ranch). Then it switches back to you and you can go about your business.

The wanted circle of 'range' on the minimap expands and grows in different ways, and the officials seem to be able to hire posses to go after you, unexpectedly increasing the distance they're willing to travel to find you. I thought I was out of the clear once, but then got hunted down.
