    Re: Red Dead Redemption

Just started the game (still at the ranch with Bonnie). I have read some reports that combat is a little too easy. I have noticed and 'expert' marksman option for targeting in the options menu. Anyone try that yet?

expert is challenging and makes for great fun (unless you are trying to shoot three mountain lions that just took out your horse those ****ers are fast lol)...but I recommend waiting until you get used to the controls first before you bump it up to expert aiming

Roping and breaking a wild stallion in a thunderstorm was freakin intense!
I had rainstorm on a day in armidillo when I did no missions. Just stayed inside and cheated (badly) @ poker..

The problem there is (which leads to my biggest complaint of the game) is that the enemies have too good of aim. If you are in cover from great distance and leave yourself 'popped up' most of the enemies will hit you. Because the game does most everything else so well, it's minor. But I was hoping for more shootouts at closer range AND more randomized accuracy.

I found my treasure, by looking at spoilers online and found that the maps don't make a lot of sense. X didn't mark the spot and neither did I or II. I'm going to try and play just a little today since I went overboard yesterday and played for like 8 hours. I love the classic setup of armadillo, it's just like deadwood or any classic thoroughfare yeehaw

              3. If you are a villain are people afraid of you when first meeting you?

              1. Yes. I was up in the mountains looking for bears and saw one attacking a herd of deer. Then... he saw me.

              2. If your horse dies, simply hit up on the d-pad (whistle) and the new one will re-spawn. I know for a fact this works for MP, I assume the same for SP.

              3. Yes. If you decide to take the hero route, they'll react to that as well. I already have people making comments on some of the things I've done as I walk by NPC's.

My first horse died when I was in the mountains because a jaguar or mountain lion ran it off the cliff

I did press up and nothing happened so I had to shoot the animal and run for my life (there were more) until I saw a camp and jacked their horses (buggy) and left them there for the lions.

...I never knew what became of them...I'd like to think they made it out alive ...

I'm not 100% sure of this, but I think you're right allBthere in that you only have one horse. If he dies you have to steal or train another. Not so in MP though.

And that's hilarious about stealing those guys horse buggy. I would have hung around just to see them get torn up. Hahaha!

Her: "Did you shoot him with a shotgun, I thought it was a duel?"

                          Me: Nope, just the revolver.

Her: "Well that's a big hole for a little gun."

I'm also off tomorrow so I will have plenty of time to play this evening.

I am playing two different ways in SP one is just a hunter extraordinaire as I skin everything that crosses my path. Another on a different save is as the harbinger of death killing any and everyone that crosses my path out on the range!

It is so awesome, I am so addicted to this game it is not even remotely funny.

they will miss if you're running or something, but if you're just standing there, most bullets will hit you even from a decent range.

In other news, my code it's saying is invalid. ugh...pain in the arse.

For as much action as you're getting out of playing this game, for your own good just stop playing so you can actually get some real life action.
