Re: Red Dead Redemption
Of course the game itself is great, but the graphics and overall smoothness does not make this feel like a last-gen game in the least.

Re: Red Dead Redemption
It just makes the whole experience so good. Its not just about the nostalgia with RdR, like it can be with some older games.

Re: Red Dead Redemption
RDR isn't only one of the best video games of all time, it's one of the best Westerns of all time. This is coming from someone who's watched just about everything Western-related, from early John Wayne B-movies to dozens of obscure Spaghettis to more modern films like The Proposition. John Marston's character is pretty much unrivaled IMO.
I do have a problem though: I just started playing RDR again on my PS3 (I have the 360 version as well), I believe it's the first time I've played on my 60" Sharp Aquos and the blacks are crushed. I can't see anything in the dark areas, especially at night. Adjusting the in-game settings helps a bit but not much.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does it look that much better on Xbox One? I'm going to buy an Xbox One eventually, if this game looks as good as you guys say it does I may buy one just for RDR lol.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Sub-HD resolution and frame rate issues, as well as the lighting.
Still a great game, even on PS3.PS3/PS4 BradCompanyComment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Interesting, thanks for the info! I was aware that the PS3 version is inferior, but this is really bad. I can barely even see where I'm riding at night, other games don't have this issue on my PS3 (and at least not to this degree that I am aware of). I will check the RGB settings when I get home, that definitely sounds like it could be the issue.
An as aside, I would shell out full price for an HD remake with Undead Nightmare included. Hands down, no questions asked.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
As someone who always regrets never playing this game for more than a couple hours (no ps3 in sight. Not buying a new one either), I'm excited for this.
Hopefully it means we will get a PS4 edition of RDR."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Red Dead Redemption
This better be a new game and not just a remaster of RDR. Remasters were fine for the first year or two of this console generation, but it's time to leave the past in the past.Ryan Spencer
