Re: Max Payne 3
I hope it's great. I'm not feeling the character model right now. I really liked the first guy, the comics in between and the sense of humour. I know I won't be getting those things in this new one, but I also don't want it to be generic gritty hard as nails marcus phenix/sam fisher. Max is different. I'm sure it will be better than stranglehold.
I'm actually still debating to buy #1 from the marketplace. it was just so awesome.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

HQ Scans
...
Eurogamer
More details have spilt out of the Game Informer first-look feature on Max Payne 3, revealing that Rockstar Vancouver is ditching James McCaffrey, who voiced our hero in the first two games.
According to the piece, Rockstar believes it needs someone older, but doesn't intend to replace him with an established star, VP of development Jeronimo Barrera pointing out, "We're good at [casting]."
The game will, however, retain a lot of the series' calling cards, despite this being the first Max Payne game developed in-house at Rockstar (the first two were by Remedy), and despite the switch of location to Sao Paolo, Brazil.
"All the Max Payne themes will remain intact - manipulation, betrayal, and the stuff that really made Max Payne," said art director Rob Nelson. And yes, the internal monologue will be coming back, like a serpent coiling around the soul of an egg-yolk pregnant with nauseating uncertainty.
"Will there be night-time levels in the rain? Probably, but level after level of that stuff would get old, so we thought it would be interesting to put him in this environment. You have the very rich living next to the very poor, and that creates a lot of tension," added Nelson.
There's not a whole lot more detail available on the game than that yet, except the previous revelations that it has a cover system, Bullet Time returns, Max is bald and addicted to meds, and there's unspecified multiplayer on the way.
Max will be able to take human shields, and will be able to recover from near-death with a last-minute bullet to his murderer restoring some adrenaline. You can also expect the slow-motion gunplay to expand out into more elaborate set-pieces.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Max Payne 3
The more I look at the screens, the more I don't like the look. Even the crappy movie got the film noir style down, but this looks like an Uncharted knock-off starring a beef upped hobo.
They even both have half-tucked shirts.
I'm sure it will be a good game, but I'm currently not seeing why this should be called Max Payne.Last edited by Flawless; 06-23-2009, 05:11 PM.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Max Payne 3 Suffers Another Delay
2010 is getting a little crowded for videogame releases.
Take-Two originally stated all four of its biggest 2010 titles, BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption, would see a release in the first half of 2010.
Now, that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
In its preliminary fourth quarter results ending October 31, the company stated Max Payne 3 is now slotted for a release during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010 (August-October).
Looks like Take-Two is setting the title up to be a top holiday release for next year.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Max Payne 3
Well if they're planning on a holiday release, I hope it lives up to the quality of most holiday game releases (examples this year: MW2, ACII, etc.).
Still not a fan of the new look.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Max Payne 3
Looks like Rockstar San Diego isn't the only one with bad management.
GameSpot: Rockstar turmoil afflicting Max Payne 3's August launch?
Source: Popular gaming blog Joystiq.
What we heard: It would appear as if Red Dead Redemption isn't the only title creating a strenuous work environment at Rockstar Games. Joystiq reports today that it has received word that a similar situation is unfolding at Max Payne 3 development house Rockstar Vancouver.
"Virtually everything said in the original 'Rockstar wives' letter and by current and former Rockstar San Diego employees in the comments applies to my experience at Rockstar Vancouver," a purported former employee at the studio told Joystiq. The studio is also reportedly in "enforced crunch mode through to the end of the project," necessitating "14 - 16 hour work days, six or seven days a week."
The source also noted that Rockstar is targeting an August 2010 release for Max Payne 3, having delayed the game to late 2010 in December. The game was officially announced in March 2009 after having been first mentioned in March 2004.
"The game's story just went through another total re-write earlier this month (the third that I am aware of in the past two years) and that [means] the team would have to have all of the content done by April or May to make that August release date," he said.
The official story: Rockstar had not responded to requests for comment as of press time.
Bogus or not bogus?: Given that the Independent Game Developers Association has offered to mediate in the quality-of-life concerns at Rockstar San Diego, it seems like there is some credence the purported Vancouver employee's claims.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Rockstar Games' delayed Max Payne 3 was curiously absent from publisher Take-Two's 2011-2012 release schedule today, but reps assure Kotaku "We're still working hard on Max, and we'll have more news in the coming months."Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches.
