Re: Max Payne 3
Up Chapter 7 or so now, and while the game is quite a bit different than the other Max Payne games in alot of ways, it shares one important similarity. It is a whole lot of fun to play, and at the end of the day that is what matters most. Have experienced quite a few awesome moments just like in the original games. My favorite so far is when I bullet dodged over a railing, fell about 10-15 feet, and was able to drop 4 of so guys with duel sawed off Shotguns before landing. So many moments like it in this game, especially if you use bulletdodge in right situations. Killing enemies in style with bullet dodge/bullet time really is just so much fun. Defiantly will going through the game on hard after finishing, and probably will play through a couple more times after that. The gameplay is defiantly good enough to warrant multiple playthroughs.
I will say, at least so far the story doesn't seem to be quite as interesting the originals (it's still good though) and I prefer the more over the top style of the originals as well, but the game-play is just as much fun. Game is actually challenging as well, particularly with free aim, which is a nice change of pace from most shooters nowadays.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-16-2012, 08:53 PM.My Teams

Re: Max Payne 3
I'm diggin' the game so far. I've only played a few levels but I like it, different narrative style from the previous games but still good. I played about 3-4 multiplayer matches before I realized I was in the soft lock games, se la vie.
Shooting multiple enemies while diving through the air is still fun after all these years.Comment

Re: Max Payne 3
I played a couple of levels of the single player and I'm really digging this game a lot. I love how the story is being told, the cutscenes are very slick and the gunplay is a lot of fun. I'm playing it on medium w/ soft lock and I've still died several times. I haven't messed with multiplayer yet, but so far I'm very happy with Max Payne 3.Comment

Re: Max Payne 3
After one day, I'm so impressed with everything multiplayer offers. Just a fun, fun shooter. Personally, I suck with free aim, and need the assist. Just can't get the aiming down quick enough in 3rd person. I think I'm like 5 kills and 48 deaths in free aim, while I'm 95 kills and 102 deaths in assist. LOL Call me weak, whatever, it's more fun for me to have the assist on. Don't even get me started on the Crew battle we had last night where I was a bullet sponge for the team LMAO.
The maps are awesome, large, very well laid out. Other shooters could learn a few things here.
Questions... The Gamestop perks? What are they, where are they? Pills online, is it just when you're "killed" you have a chance for revenge? You can't actually use them otherwise right? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything with the online play.
Our Crew is rocking! 73rd now in the world. 7 wins and 10 losses in Crew battles.
Rockstar
Yah, I was talking to 42 about this... I personally think it mimics real life more accurately. When I'm aiming a real gun, I'm not going in blind with my gun pointed nowhere near the target. I'm lifting the gun, and directing it at my target, then adjusting my aim from there, which is exactly what the soft-lock does.
And that's not at all to say free aim is bad, I just prefer the mechanics and feel of soft-lock.
i enjoyed teaming up candyman and the other OS'ers but after while it got boring cuz i could barely kill anybody.
so soft lock people hit me up so we can team up and kick ***!
an another note, dual wielded guns are too powerful online and has a little too much accuracy from far away IMO. hopefully they tone it down. its getting out of hand."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd

Soft lock here too from now on........tried free aim last night with some of the crew and it was a disaster. I can normally hold my own on soft lock though.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

Re: Max Payne 3
SpoilerI just got past the part where you split up from the other guy and you're in the stands trying to make your way across. I died a bunch of times on that part, but eventually was able to complete it by running back to a spot where I could take some cover and let the enemies come to me. I don't understand why the guy you were with didn't pick off any of those enemies with the sniper rifle to help you out though. I thought I was gonna get stuck there for a little bit.Comment

Despite that this is a fun game both MP and SP. In SP, im playing on the easiest level and I am still dying. It's challenging with no regenerating health, and not running across alot of pain killers.Comment

Re: Max Payne 3
I just played two rounds of team deathmatch on the office level and had a lot of fun. The first game I went 5-11 and the second I went 10-12. When I slowed down I seemed to do a little better.
I didn't think I'd like the multiplayer very much when I looked at videos, but my impressions of it are very good. I hope I can find some more time to play it today because I'm really liking what I've experienced so far. I rented it from Gamefly, but I think I'm just going to go ahead and purchase it so I can keep it. I really look forward to seeing what Rockstar does with GTA V because they did a great job with this game. I can't wait to play this title some more, both parts of MP3 seem really polished.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 05-17-2012, 01:46 AM.Comment
