OK, I may be missing something here but for the life of me I can't melee anyone. The booklet says get close and hit the right trigger (shoot button) but every time I walk up behind someone and try it my gun shoots.

All the while I get melee'd all the time. People are even swinging at me when I am out of their melee range sometimes.

I don't have a problem doing it in the single player mode but multi-player is a different story. Have not been able to melee even once.

Anyone have a tip?

it's triangle (or Y) online, instead of the trigger.

haven't finished the game yet, been too caught up in multiplayer. it's pretty addicting.

Anyone been able to compare, or find info, on the two console versions? I've not found anything that would make be believe there are material differences.

I ask this knowing there were big differences in the series' early entries, and with the mindset that Max Payne was "meant" to be played on xbox.

I picked up the PS3 version today traded 2 games and got it free at my local futureshop here in Canada. I have been playing the sp to get used to the controls and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I'll eventually get into mp but I will probably wait til I feel comfortable enough wiith the controls. Do most of you guys go with soft lock or free aim? Also does the slowdown of the reticule for more control when close to target apply to mp as well? Thanks.

I have not run into one game that was "meant" to be played on either console...with that being said,if you haven't found any comparisons yet I would bet that the games are pretty much identical.

What it would then come down to is controller preference and where a majority of your friends play the game.

I would say they look the same. The only difference between the 2 is it's on 2 discs for the 360 and 1 for the PS3...if that even matters

I said "meant" because the first two games in the series were better able to utilize the xbox vs. the PS2. Agree with you completely. Meant was a poor choice of wording. In my mind, because of the series' past, I just have this feeling that Max Payne games should be played on MS boxes.

With all of the positive impressions, I just couldn't hold out. I jumped on the TRU deal (Game + free 1600 MS point card). My crew invite request has been sent. I should be on in the late evening. Looking forward to it.

Just got to the second disc on Max Payne 3. Really enjoying the story-one of the best single player experiences in a long time.

Just hopped into some multiplayer games, and man am I terrible.

I'm on chapter IV and just loving it. Some reviews said the story isn't very good, but I find it entertaining.

Only problem I have is check points. I almost complete a mission, die and have to start from the beginning.

I'm so bad at multiplayer. Definitely need to get used to the controls. First game was 8-25, second was 8-14. Just feel lost. Need more time.

I'm enjoying the multiplayer a lot, if I was only MP I'd still be happy with my purchase.

Has anybody heard if they were going to release the cemetery mp map for everybody? I didn't preorder the game,and found out after the fact that there was a gamestop preorder bonus,and that map was it.

I had just tried to call them and get the code anyways since I did the game on Tuesday,but no dice.
