          Silence to be broken tomorrow

Three different tweets from three different Bethesda Softworks sources hint at some sort of big Fallout: New Vegas info dropping tomorrow.

From Bethesda's Pete Hines: "if you're into Fallout or want to find out something, anything, on Fallout: New Vegas...well, tomorrow, it begins."

From community manager Nick Breckon: Tomorrow will be a big day for #FalloutNewVegas. Whoo.

From the Bethesda Blog Twitter feed: Keep your eyes peeled for new stuff on #FalloutNewVegas tomorrow!

Fallout 3 is one of the best games made period.

If this is near the greatness of FO3 then I'm all over it. It looks like this is almost in the future from FO3, did you see a full skyline there with lights everywhere?

Looks like the city is still very much functioning.

Isn't that going against Fallout lore? I don't know much about Fallout..only played the 3rd one...I know that the West was better functional-wise...but an entire city lit up like that?

Yeah, is this based on FO3's gameplay? Obviously they'll change stuff and whatnot, but if it's a explore, find missions, etc game like FO3 I'll be totally in on this.

Yeah I didn't think that there was an cities that were that well functioning, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

                          Re: Fallout: New Vegas

New Reno was sort of a thriving city in Fallout 2. It wasn't lit up, but it certainly wasn't a shanty town either. The first two games did make references to Vegas being rebuilt, hence "New Vegas".

                          ...

                          IGN

The website for Fallout: New Vegas also revealed this will be a single-player only title, and is set "in and around New Vegas in Nevada," perhaps meaning players won't be contained strictly within city limits.

The website also gives fans a greeting, and a few words of warning, as they prepare to enter New Vegas.

"Experience all the sights and sounds of fabulous New Vegas, brought to you by Vault-Tec, America's First Choice in Post Nuclear Simulation. Explore the treacherous wastes of the Great Southwest from the safety and comfort of your very own vault: Meet new people, confront terrifying creatures, and arm yourself with the latest high-tech weaponry as you make a name for yourself on a thrilling new journey across the Mojave wasteland."

"A word of warning, however - while Vault-Tec engineers have prepared for every contingency,* in Vegas, fortunes can change in an instant. Enjoy your stay.

                          * Should not be construed as a legally-binding claim."

Ah. Makes a bit more sense I guess...and I think 50 years have past since the first Fallout..maybe more...and I can't wait for this, I WISH that they would make a better combat system though. If this game had the ME2 combat system..I would play it again and again and again.

Well the whole city isn't present, as it seems to be some of the downtown and strip, while the whole suburban area is gone. They've had time to rebuild it too, and Hoover Dam is nearby, which has ties to the NCR (New California Republic) that was shown in the trailer.

That unicylce robot looked pretty dumb though. It had a cowboy tv face while digging through the dirt with utterly pointless hands. It looked like gizmoduck or something.

I agree there. Combat, while serviceable, was still one of the sore spots in an otherwise great game.
