After Metallica I don't think I'll be picking up any more Guitar Heros anytime soon. They are putting so many new games out there so soon it just seems like a little too much. I like the way Rock Band does it much better with the release of their content.

A vid showing the 4-player, any instrument mode. It mentions some other new features like having your own star power instead of a group shared star power, I'm glad for this. The producer didn't mention anything about being able to save a band member, I hope they copy that from Rock Band because I really like being able to do that.

I saw something in a preview yesterday about saving. It's a little different than Rock Band, the other members have play well for a set amount of time to bring the other player in.

A new Revival Meter allows band members to save a weaker player who has failed out.

EDIT: Actually, that might have been what I saw yesterday. I seem to recall there being more information about it but I might be wrong.

If you're playing with the types that are inclined to fail just play in party mode.
That challenge idea is great and terrible at the same time. Probably end up having to play a song you don't like 50 times to get an outfit you want or something like that but it's a good idea if you only had to play songs you like to get it or got to pick what you unlock.

The good folks at the ESRB seem to have revealed more songs...

Some song lyrics contain expletives (e.g., "damned" and "hell") or suggestive content (e.g., "I'm so horny," "He's gonna do another strip tease," "Your sex is on fire"). Alcohol and tobacco are also referenced in some songs (e.g., "Wanna get a belly full o' beer" and "Light me up that cigarette").

"I'm so horny,"...Lithium by Nirvana.

"He's gonna do another strip tease,"...Lust for Life by Iggy Pop.

"Light me up that cigarette"...What I Got by Sublime.

How the hell are they going to fit four people playing guitar/drums/bass on the screen?

The notes are going to look like dots. Three people is bad enough, even on the biggest TV.

And that sucks they're getting Cash. I've been dying for Ring of Fire. Good to know that there is a master of it though.

There won't be an issue there....
