According to The Rock Radio, Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page recently received the United Nations Pathways To Peace Award in Beijing. At the ceremony, he mused a bit about music games:

"It's always a possibility that someone who's playing those games may well want to actually take the step on their own. Or maybe they're already playing guitar and they play that rock game. Y'know, it's a fun thing to do, you get an understanding of the timing of music, with that you can have fun with on it. I think the most important thing is that with an instrument, you should just really have fun with it and enjoy it."

So why the apparent change of heart? Could it be that seeing the Beatles treated with such respect has brought him around to the idea of participating in a music game? Could someone have thrown enough money at the band that they simply couldn't refuse? Let's not forget that Guitar Hero CEO Dan Rosensweig name-dropped Led Zeppelin in a November interview.

Black Sabbath makes up for the crappy metal pack they put out this month. Could be a better pack but at least there's finally masters and I'm getting it anyway. This is one of those times they should've went with the full album as all 3 are off the same one + it'd only be 5 more songs + one of those would be Children of the Grave.

Other 3 weeks are crap as usual.

50% repeats for March but at least they know what Night Ranger song to put out,don't know what Flogging Molly songs to put out but better than nothing and also managed to put out the one Motley Crue song RB doesn't have but there's still no sign of Sabbath...

Half of the April DLC (according to people who saw it on the UK Wii store),a Skynrd pack with TWO RB repeats and even a GH repeat that you can already play in the current games but it's been re-charted and a Fallout Boy pack 1 RB repeat but hey maybe it's not censored here and 1 GH handheld repeat. So yes you've read that right,5/6 of the songs here have been in other games and there's a chance one is already in your game.

Time for good news,bad news....

Good news: There's a classic rock pack coming next month.

Bad news: It's made up of Take the Money and Run (available in RB),Juke Box Hero (available in RB + playable on guitar in DJ Hero + was DLC for GH III) and Sweet Home Alabama Live (*possibly re-charted,apprently 360/PS3 got screwed over on Freebird and it was the exact same chart on those systems even though the Wii had a new one,otherwise it's exactly the one that imported from WT)

In relation here's an article about why RB is kicking GH butt...which is funny because:

It's simply amazing how quickly things can change. Around six months ago, an article was published on this page asking if the Rock Band series could possibly compete with the excellent release of Guitar Hero 5. The article basically states that Rock Band has begun to feel "stale" after one goes and plays Guitar Hero 5 with all of it's features.

Though I don't agree with going about how to fix it. That's what started the downfall to begin with.

A Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge certainly thinks the suit has merit, issuing a tentative ruling that rejects Activision's attempt to use freedom-of-speech protections in its use of No Doubt avatars the Los Angeles Times reports. Activision has the right to appeal the ruling. Previously, the company had attempted to paint the suit as a copyright issue rather than a right-of-publicity issue.

I saw this last night. I love their music, but we do not need another band game........why we couldn't get a greatest hits package for DLC is beyond me.

Rock Band got BSSM, and outside of the singles on Californication, and maybe Higher Ground, and a few singles from By the Way there isn't much I'd want to play.

Yup if we get any more band games it needs to be a band we don't already have a lot of significant songs from.
