So much for playing online being a solution to challenges.
There's no vocalists and everyone sucks. Had to play on medium to make sure I didn't miss any star power to bail these people out. Their poor play is throwing me off because the song still cuts out.

The "they're about to fail" screen blocking out your own green button doesn't help things either.

I have a question about Guitar Hero: World Tour. It may come out sort of confusing so please bear with me:

I used my hard drive on someone else's Guitar Hero game and on someone else's 360 to download 5 songs with my Microsoft points (Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, etc). I could readily play these songs on that XBox.

Soon, my own XBox360 bit the dust. I was sent a replacement console with a note about re-downloading content. I was under the impression that all my information was on my hard drive but I clearly missed out on some key information along the way. I used my hard drive again on my friend's GH and 360 (I do not have XBoxLive access at my house) to "re-download" my songs but they again will not show up on my own 360.

I have updated my playlist and whatnot. Still, nothing. Only the free, user-made downloads will show up. It seems apparent there is some tie between the hard drive and which console I download songs I had to pay for.

1) Is there anything I can do now to make these songs show up on my replacement 360?

and

2) For future reference, is there a set of rules I should follow when downloading songs (i.e. Do I have to use my own copy of Guitar Hero, my own 360 or both?)

You'll have to use the lisence transfer tool.

In the future only download songs on YOUR 360. It doesn't matter who's game you use,you can get them from the marketplace without a game at all.

Had you not downloaded them on someone else's you'd be able to call and get it fixed. They're supposed to lisence the console you sent in to the replacement (they often don't and you'd have to call). They might've done that but because they were DLed on someone else's those songs wouldn't have been lisenced for the new system. They're lisenced to your gamertag on the other persons system.

Wow, thanks for the informative response. I'm so glad I can gain an understanding on all of this, pinpointing exactly what mistake was made (not my own system). I didn't even think when I downloaded them that anything would matter aside from my hard drive. But in retrospect it makes sense, with the lisencing and whatnot.

Now, not to continue bothering you, but what is the lisence transfer tool?
