Re: Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)
I bought Dragon Age and Modern Warfare 2 and still spent a considerable amount of time on the L4D2 demo on Expert tonight. The part in the 2nd level where you have to race to the alarm up the ladder never gets old. Can't wait to see whats in the store (haven't read any spoilers) for the rest of the campaigns.Comment

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)
so I played through the Dead Center and Dark Carnival games. Not too many people have the game yet and I got paired with some complete idiots through the Dark Carnival campaign.
Overall I think it's great so far. I mean, if you liked the first one you'll love this one. The melee weapons are great, though a heads up the chainsaw runs out of gas pretty quickly.
campaign spoilers:
SpoilerDead Center takes place mostly through a shopping mall. The enter has you moving along three stories inside the mall trying to find gas to put inside this hillbilly racecar that's on display in the middle of the mall. Once the car is filled with gas you drive away to safety lol.
Dark Carnival is a lot of fun. I mean, really fun. At one point you have to start a generator at the beginning of a roller coaster, then you have run through the entire set of track to get to the end to shut off the generator.
There's a few different carnival games you can play and if you win then you get an achievement. Pretty nice touch.
The end of Dark Carnival is great too. You head to the stage area of the carnival where a pyrotechnic rock band was setting up to play, and the only way to get the helicopter's attention is to turn on the sound check and hit the pyrotechnics. So you fighting off the final waves of zombies in the finale on a stage with pyrotechnics going off and southern rock music going on, all in all a lot of fun despite the fact my teammates were idiots, took all my health packs and left me to die when the helicopter came.Lux y VeritasComment

Dark Carnival sounds awesome.

Game Informer Review - 9.5
"Last November, Valve spread a pandemic infection across Xbox Live and PCs everywhere with the original Left 4 Dead. The newest chapter in the undead uprising now oozes with even more of the proven developer's trademark personality and polish. If you are among those who think the sequel is coming to soon, prepare to eat your words like so many brains. Left 4 Dead 2 is everything a sequel should be: perfected, expanded, and an absolute riot."Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)
I'm leaning more and more towards L4D2 and less from AC2. From the reviewers, I heard that AC2 is pretty much the same game just with an economy, new armor and weapons, and of course silly little boring mini-games. If you like sword fighting, then you'll enjoy it but I think smashing zombie heads with a guitar is much more fun.
I'm really excited for L4D2 even thought I have never played the first one. Btw, thanks a lot for the info about the game, Flawless.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)
oh man this game is good. Playing through it you can see the little improvements here and there, and the way the different levels have different ways you work through them really keeps the gameplay fresh.
On the new special infected: Man, chargers are vicious. The jockey is quite annoying and the spitter, well, so far it kind of looks like a worthless addition. It's pretty easy to avoid the spit and they go down very easily as well.
Apparently nobody else has gotten the game early because I've only been able to find three lobbies for campaign, and I wasn't able to find any versus games.
The addition of melee weapons is great, I've been able to try most of them. My preference is definitely for either the katana or machete.
I've played all the way through four of the five campaigns: Dead Center, Dark Carnival, Hard Rain and The Parish. Dark Carnival is still my favorite so far and it's not even close.
campaign spoilers:
Spoiler
Hard rain is hard. You have to go retrieve gas to bring back to a boat and by the time you get the gas it starts pouring. Visibility is considerably lessened and there's times when it starts coming down so hard you can't see more than five feet in front of you. All the extra rain has flooded the path you took from the beginning and it's slow going back. Oh, did I mention there's about a thousand wandering witches in Hard Rain, including a lot in a cornfield patch where you can't see them until you run into them.
The Parish is pretty fun, if you played the demo you have a good feel for what it's like. The finale of the Parish is ridiculous though. This is the one where you call the army to open the gate to a large bridge, then you run across the bridge amidst many cars and trucks all the way trying to fight your way through thousands of infected and special infected. And the bridge is very long, it takes a while to get through it.

Re: Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)
If you played any versus, how did it split up the special infected between players? In the first one it was pretty much always 2 hunters, a smoker, and a boomer. Wonder how they are doing it now with the extra classes.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Only way I see the spitter being useful is if you have a jockey steer them into the spit, or have a smoker pull them in.
