Of course...but honestly, more L4D is good to me.

I don't get why people whine and complain about more of an awesome game. Yeah, it's not free, I know. It's kinda crazy to expect year after year of free crap for games IMO, how would they make money?
it's not because people want free content. Their objections are due to the fact that Valve released this game light on content, but promised extensive DLC and support, getting more people to buy it. We now know they were instead making a sequel shortly after the first was released. Many of the improvements were actually submitted by the community, who thought it would be used in future DLC, not another $60 game.

There's still months for people to cool off, but this is really pissing off the PC crowd, who matter more to Valve than console players.

I understand...I guess I don't feel that ripped off considering I got way more out of L4D than I do a lot of full price games.

          Eurogamer Interview

Eurogamer: Are you going to continue to support the first game with more DLC and patches, or is the emphasis now on Left 4 Dead 2?

Erik Johnson: We're going to keep building stuff for Left 4 Dead 1. We'll support both. We've always felt that it makes good business sense to keep customers happy. It'll be good for Left 4 Dead 2 to support Left 4 Dead 1. We do have risks in that we don't want to split the two camps, we don't want a Left 4 Dead 1 group and a Left 4 Dead 2 group, that's a problem that we need to figure out.

I'd love for an option to install L4D 1 into L4D 2 ala Rock Band into Rock Band 2.

That would rock...then you don't need the 2 discs to play either.

It could reach 5,000,000 for all I care, the game will still sell like crazy and will be huge on XBL no matter what petition people sign.

I agree with some of their points, but the game will sell fine on the 360, as console people are used to sequels being pushed out in a year.

It's primarily the PC people that are pissed, and even if Valve is 100% lying about fully supporting the last L4D, which I think they are, it'll still do fine on Steam as well.

By now, most of you have heard about the Left 4 Dead 2 internet petition claiming that the sequel should be released free to owners of the first game, fulfilling Valve's promise to support Left 4 Dead with free DLC. Well I'm sure you've guessed it by now, but Adam has something to say on this subject. Check out the Feed story about the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott petition, and then press play to find out how The Sess feels.

                                Re: Left 4 Dead 2 (360/PC)

There's nothing wrong with people having an opinion and expressing it harmlessly in a petition. Ultimately, it's just as pointless as making a video mocking those opinions and about the value of a game.

Besides, Sessler misses the point. He's looking at it like a console player, when it's primarily an issue with PC gamers. L4D2 is a perfectly acceptable sequel that consoles see all the time.

People aren't "bitching" because there's a new game coming, even if it was announced 7 months after the first one released. The majority of these "whiners" are PC players upset because Valve promised that L4D would be a long living platform for DLC and community mods. Valve even cited the excellent Team Fortress 2 support as a blueprint for L4D. This undoubtedly led people to buy the game, and the SDK still isn't out for fans to busy themselves making their own content.
