Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
Im playing on normal level and for me anyways, its no walk in the park. Save often.
Anyways i enjoy the game. Is it a Elder Scrolls or Dragon Age killer? Not really but it does enough things differently to stand on its own and make for an enjoyable RPG experience.Joshua:

Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
It's and Action RPG, ala Oblivion though isn't it? I've read that it does A LOT wrong. I'm looking for an Oblivion alternative to hold me off until Skyrim... so I was thinking about this. I think joystiq ripped it a new one though.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
I bought it this morning and played it for 3-4 hours. The voice overs were horrible and the graphics were really poppy. I was talking to one of the characters at a plot point and the sound just stopped. And then she dissappeared and I got shot with arrows and died. Then I restarted and this time she dissappeared but the her voice kept talking and nobody shot me with arrows. There where a whole lot more issues and I took my copy back this afternoon and was able to get my money back.
So that is my .02, my advice pass. There are way to many good games coming out to waste time with bad or mediocre games. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
I'm looking at the PC version, and it looks like it releases on 2/4/11, so I'll have a little time to look it over some more. Supposedly it's a little more refined, but who knows. I'm just really wanting a "new" Oblivion. Oblivion is great... and made even better after mods. But I'm getting frustrated getting swarmed by enemies, swining Anduril sword, which hits 4-5 guys, but only effects 1 of them. If I'm in combat and my sword hits 4-5 guys, I want it to hurt the 4-5 guys, not just the one that I"m actively targeting.
I've been watching some Youtube videos on this, and I'm not sold, so I'm looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks.
That sucks that you didn't have a good experience with it though. That's what I'm seeing more often than not.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
I dont see. 'lot' wrong at all. I just think sometimes the masses expect too much or just cant be happy and need to pick. Yes the voice acting isnt award winning and there is choppiness but ive only seen it in spurts and mainly on horseback.
Like i said it is not on the scale of Dragon Age but Oblivion had its fair share of choppiness and getting stuck in the world items etc.. Yet it got a pass....
For the record i loved Oblivion. Well i love RPGs in general.
Im in a spot now where i have to attack and retreat ... Make some potions etc.. To clear out some enemies.... So no its not easy even on normal but im fine with that.... Like i said earlier it doesnt seem to be where the enemies are walkovers at the start.
So basically im not saying for anyone to buy it. Just saying im enjoying it and it will hold me over until the next RPG. I always play the game for myself to see if I like it. Its just a game. 60.00 (or 40.00 if you wait for the sale) and i know Ill get 60.00 of fun. Its far from perfect so rent or whatever you think is best. RPGs are lot baseball games for me also... I buy em all usually.Last edited by Skyboxer; 01-25-2011, 08:58 PM.Joshua:

Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
How is the combat Sky? Thanks for the impressions by the way. Can you do melee style attacks, hitting multiple enemies? It looks more of a LOTR style theme by one of the trailers I saw for it.
Also, what about just wandering off and doing my own thing? Dungeon crawling, etc?Last edited by WTF; 01-25-2011, 09:07 PM.Twitter - WTF_OS

You can just travel and do whatever. Main thing is even on normal difficulty there hasnt been any easy fights other than at the beginning of the game when learning.
Its certainly not as polished as other RPGs weve played and could have been better. Thats why im saying that its not really a lot of bad but rather weve played better. If you are jonesing for another RPG then its a viable one to hold you over. Just dont expect a DA or Elder Scroll clone. If you could care less if you have a new one right now then id wait for DA or Elder Scrolls.....
Thats what makes it difficult for me to give feedback as i just love all rpgs. Ive yet had any of the issues of chatacters disappearing etc....
So in a nutshell its better than TW1 but not to the level of the others.Last edited by Skyboxer; 01-25-2011, 09:28 PM.Joshua:

Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
I think mainly my thing is, I've played Oblivion way too much. This latest play through, I've already logged 80hrs. My first play through, I was well over 200 hrs. Right now, I'm just seeing the downfalls of one game, and looking for a similar game to tide me over. But I guess it's just going to be one of those "try it" situations to see how it does for me.
I'm not a big RPG'er. But I did LOVE Oblivion. I think the mods are amazing, and I've been wanting a LOTR'esque game. I'm waiting on the MERP mod for Oblivion to hit full scale, but in the meantime, I'm just looking for "something".
Can't wait to hear some more impressions come from this thread though.Twitter - WTF_OS

Thats one area i like a lot. The crafting stuff etc....
Just figured out (duh) that ive been running around with no sheild. So hopefully that will help me out a bit in battle. Still dont have a helmet.
You just keep learning new things as you go as far as crafting and potion making. It actually reminds me a lot combat wise to Oblivion since theres no target system and is really free form.
So anyways the learning of the crafting, finding spell cards and modifiers etc.. Is all enjoyable to me.
Personally on the latest RPGs ive played they would be in this order:
Demons Souls
.
.
Oblivion
DA
.
.
.
TW2
Im trying to be fair in my assesment and not let the fact that i love RPGs get in the way of my judgement. If you want something a bit different and can overlook some , i hate to call them flaws, but rather dated gameplay.... Then it would suit you. Best bet would be to wait for a $ drop if you dont need one right now or youre not a RPG junkie. LolLast edited by Skyboxer; 01-25-2011, 10:11 PM.Joshua:

And for what its worth... Just finished up for the night and never encountered a single glitch. Games been very enjoyable and challenging. Its not perfect but far from the stuff some of these reviewers are spewing.
IMO of course.... Its just your basic RPG that's not going to WOW you or anything but it delivers some decent fun. Sometimes i wonder if gaming for fun isnt a priority anymore.
Anyways thats all for my input on the game.
Fun but been there done that gameplay but one of my favorite magic systems....
Solid 7.5 if i had to score it.
Not great but not terrible.....Last edited by Skyboxer; 01-26-2011, 09:13 AM.Joshua:

Re: Any News On Two Worlds 2?
Sounds pretty good overall. I'm not expecting a lot. But I really like the fact that you can craft your own weapons, etc. That's something I really thought was missing from Oblivion. Hopefully Skyrim takes notes of this.
I'm hopeful that I can find a download of this on a UK Steam Acct or somewhere from a Digital Distributor. At least a demo. I have some Steam money gifted to me that is burning a whole in my pocket, so it'd only actually be a little over $20 out of my pocket. We'll see.
Keep the impressions coming though, definitely an enjoyable read.
What are your thoughts on the story thus far? Or are you just going out and exploring. Is it like Oblivion, where if you're out exploring, things just attack you on sight, or do you need to provoke them?Twitter - WTF_OS
