LOL I know that feeling. I get the same type of feeling when I don't play a pokemon game for a long period of time...don't know what I was doing or where I am at in the game. Heart Gold was like that for me especially since it was years since I played G/S...I didn't know what to do at all sadly enough I still don't know what I am doing lol

Re: The Pokemon Thread
If it was me, I would play FR/LG first to get the pokemon you can send to D/P after you beat the elite 4 and get the national dex.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: The Pokemon Thread
I haven't played it in forever so I might be wrong.
In Diamond/Pearl though, I believe, you start with the local dex which contains all of the pokemon you can catch in D/P through the elite 4. Afterwards I think you get the national dex, and you can import them into diamond and pearl through the pal park ( I never beat Platinum, I am assuming it is in it too though since it is essentially the Yellow/Crystal version of D/P).
I could be wrong about getting a national dex, but I do know the pal park unlocks after beating the elite 4 so you can transfer your pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire/Leaf Green/Fire Red/Emerald.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: The Pokemon Thread
So I got back into playing Black version, and I am actually putting some time into it. I just beat the 5th Gym Leader, Clay a Ground type trainer for the Quake Badge. Now I'm moving on to the next city, and I have to travel through a Cave called Chargestone Cave.
Since I'm really bored I'll post up my team as of now.
Servine - Lv. 30
My starter. Not sure why I went with the Grass type starter for this game, maybe because in all other generations I've mainly used either the Fire, or Water starter and I was looking to mix it up, also I thought it might be more of a challenge. This guy has been pretty good, Leaf Tornado has been an awesome attack.
Darumaka - Lv 32
Fire type, so far I believe this has been the only Fire type I have seen up to where I am. I've heard that when this guy evolves, that the evolution is pretty beastly so I'm sticking with it.. only need 3 more levels.
Joltik - Lv 29
I just caught this one, and am currently training it up to par with the rest of my team. I had another electric type but I stashed it in the PC system, because I think Joltik might be better, plus it's also a Bug type and I could use some Bug attacks for dealing with Dark, Psychic Pokemon.
Krokorok - Lv 30
One of my favorites so far, it's a Ground/Dark Pokemon. Plus it looks pretty cool. Crunch is a badass attack, I have Dig on him but I'm thinking I can upgrade that for a better ground move.
Scraggy - Lv 30
He's a fighting type, looks little but packs a pretty powerful punch. I actually was thinking of switching him out for another Fighting type, since there are quite a few in this game but I'm staying with him for now.
Palpitoad - Lv 31
A Water and Ground type Pokemon. I actually want to switch this out for another Water type, because I already have Krokorok as my Ground type, and I don't like the vulnerability to Grass that I currently have.Minnesota Vikings

Re: The Pokemon Thread
I'm bored, too. So here's my team in Pokemon Black. I have all 8 badges and I'm on my way to the Elite 4...
Darmanitan (Lv. 41)

Evolution of Darumaka, that was mentioned above. Like the only fire type in the game, so pretty essential.
Seismitoad (Lv. 40)

I needed a water type, happened to randomly stumble upon him recently at level 37. Had to grab him.
Darkrai (Lv. 52)

Couldn't resist using him. And he's awesome. I'm not sure I've ever had a Dark type in my party before in any of the previous games.
Zebstrika (Lv. 39)

Electric type. I love his speed. He almost always goes first, which is fun against birds and water since it means their death is quick and, for me, painless.
Serperior (Lv. 45)

My starter. I also don't know why I took grass and I wish I didn't. That said, Serperior is pretty badass.
Sawk (Lv. 39)

Fighting type that bludgeons people to death.
---------------
Still bored, so here's my HeartGold team...
Growlithe (Lv. 30)

Needed a fire type. Plus he's a badass.
Feraligatr (Lv. 36)

Evolution of my starter, Totodile.
Kadabra (Lv. 30)

I always like to have a Kadabra. It seems like he kills everything, like I can win almost any battle with a similarly level Pokemon with him, despite the types.
Weepinbell (Lv. 29)

I don't know. I needed a grass type. He knows Solar Beam, though, so he's not completely useless.
Ampharos (Lv. 37)

Probably one of my favorite Pokemon. You have to suffer through an electric sheep to get to him, but he's awesome looking and performs awesome as well.
Gyardos (Lv. 31)

Caught the red one at Lake of Rage. Will probably replace him with a Dragonite if I can ever get off my lazy *** and start training the Dratini I caught.Last edited by Bellsprout; 05-24-2012, 02:13 PM.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: The Pokemon Thread
I guess we'll just post our teams now. Trying to beat the Elite 4, they did a great job with this game. I love the fact that HM isn't that big in this game. No need to carry a "HM slave."
Samurott, Lv.45
Water Starter
Rufflett, lv.43
Cool bird, takes forever to evolve though, level 54.
Emboar, lv.46
Fire Starter
Sawsbuck, lv.46
Only have him for Leech Seed, surprising attack moves.
Kookodile, lv.43
It just looks like a badass.
Beartic, lv.43
Ursaring's brotherComment

Re: The Pokemon Thread
So Kobalt you must have traded with someone to get Two of the starting Pokemon?
I also have a Darkrai from the Wi-Fi event, however I would feel too cheap using it on my first playthrough.. as I feel Pokemon games are already easy enough. I'm going to save it for endgame when I beat the Elite 4.Minnesota Vikings

Yea my friend sent me a water starter egg when he was supposed to send me in the Rufflett egg. So I just kept both, I only asked for Rufflett egg because it's only available on the White version. So Kobalt you must have traded with someone to get Two of the starting Pokemon?

Re: The Pokemon Thread
I wish I would've taken the water starter in Black. All of his versions look cool.

Dayman, is Growlithe better then Magmar or is it strictly preference?Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: The Pokemon Thread
Magmar is probably better than Growlithe, I would think.
I doubt Magmar is better than Arcanine, though, and that's my endgame, to get an Arcanine.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn
