There's no way they would let you get past that area without doing that. It's a major character moment.

    It's basically...

Wow only 6 hours really? Only reason I was gonna check this game out cause the accolades you all have given it but that is short! $60?
NFL - Dallas Cowboys, MLB - NY Yankees
NBA - Knicks, NHL - NY Rangers,
NCAABB - St. Johns Redmen (Redstorm)

          Then the story wouldn't work.

Also, goh, you can't just head down and take them on with guns? You have to make...that...decision?
No you can't. I just got back to that point on a second play through after deciding this time to try and save Ghould. Which doesn't matter because regardless he dies. It seems to be alot like Bioware titles in that the game gives you this illusion of choice but the plot I'm guessing plays out the same either way.

If nothing else the game's narrative is unique and a different take on a modern military shooter. Haven't touched MP yet but I was I have to admit a little annoyed you're forced into using the mortars.

It'd obviously be a different story.

amazon has it on sale already: http://www.amazon.com/Spec-Ops-The-L...words=spec+ops

As important as that sequence is to the game, it wouldn't work if it was different. It would ruin the game.

I just played and got to chapter 3...Lovin the gameplay and the storyline definitely stands on its own right... not the same typical stories

Tons of fun so far... they should've just went ahead and put a massive focus on SP

I'm a couple of hours in on the PC version. In terms of gameplay it's simple but very polished. The violence feels a little over the top, in particular the execution animations but the gunplay and dialogue are top notch. I was a little weary when I heard that Nolan North was the lead but he has done a fantastic job so far. I haven't noticed a whole lot of character development so far but the game is doing a pretty good job of making me feel very uneasy about the constant stream of murder and violence that I am inflicting on the AI.

It seems to be quite a decent port, runs great on my laptop on medium, but has caused two crashes requiring a complete reboot of my PC. I guess that's the price of buying PC games on release day.

I don't know how far you got in a few hours, but if the story has you now. Just wait till later on. It really got to me . I was like dammmmmmmmmnnnnnnnn . A game never made me feel that way ever. A solid job with the story and the choices you have to make.

This games deserves the $60 for many reason.

                      Gameplay
                      Story
                      Characters
                      Weapons not being exaggerated

and to me I feel this game does not exaggerate on the weapons. They do what they are suppose to do, and there is no exaggeration with them. No fancy bells and whistles. everything feels right. I love playing a game that keeps it simple and real.

Something that COD which I loved in the past lost. They have so much silly crap in the game it ruins it. This game is the opposite. Great great story so far, and very nice game play. I cant get over what I saw later on in the story. It really rocked me.

Well that was the biggest gut punch I have ever experienced in this medium. This game is far more than the sum of its parts...

                            even more than RDR?

thats the game that made me like... this is crap.. but they never allowed me to make a choice at the end of it either so it was kinda upsetting at the same time that it was a script

I would possibly grab it, but not for a 6 hour campagin, at least not at $60. Is the MP any good?
