I have looked in every spot and there is no code. There is one on my gamestop receipt, but entering that says I need to enter the actual game code first...

      Im stumped.
Its the tiny manual behind the Tech Tree in the box.

It plays much better on my laptop which is awesome. Quick Question guys: Does building a road on Farms or mines incease the productivity of the farm or mine? Also do the Cities expand on their own or is it up to you to buy the tiles to increase the city?

Honestly Im kinda confused as to how your countries boarder expands, Is there a difference between the city size and country boarders?

Im still trying to figure this new menu and style out myself. Liking it very much so far. Graphics are much improved and it seems there is a lot more going on. Been playing since Civ 1, so this much change is hard to grasp at the outset, but looking great so far as soon as I relearn it.

might as well get to class before you get addicted, Im sure this game will cause quite a few people to drop out.

A few Minor annoyances: After further Review

-Not being able to stack workers, I wish workers could pass through a another worker on a road. Its seems pretty stupid that even though workers are building a farm for example, another worker cannot pass through but instead has to go around Still annoying,It is really stupid that Unit cannot pass through each other, Totally gonna find a mod to fix this.
-The Technology Sharing agreement, why cant we see what were researching with another country? It does say in the agreement the Random, Before I was worried the AI picked the Technology.I try and keep the AI as weak as possible...

-The City Info screen, IV was much better as it seemed more clear and precise. Getting used to it, not too bad

I have a bit of a random question:

How do you get deer to show up as one of your Civs luxury resources? I'm pretty sure I've researched all the necessary technologies to get it. Also, are roads necessary to link up those resources to your cities like it was in Civ 4?

Ok so according to steam I have spent exactly 6 hours with Civ V and overall I love it. It feels fresh and more balanced that IV. There are def. not as many Military units in V but it takes a little while longer to build buildings, it does feel even. I started my first game on Warlord, Def. gonna have to bump this up as Warlord is far too easy for me.

I love the Steam Achievement for Embarking on a boat
                Spoiler

I destroyed my First Nation, Puny Rome was smashed by the mighty Americans in a short but fierce war. I love the way Siege units work, they can fully destroy other units now! I will say that Siege Units do appear to be more important than Melee units. The Combat in V does appear to be more balanced in a Rock Paper Scissors way. Siege Units destroy Cities, Melee Units Destroy Siege Units, and Cities hurt Melee Units. Without a Siege Unit, Expect heavy losses when trying to take a city.

One really nice touch on the Diplomatic side, when you amass your army to prepare for war, that particular country will ask you what your intentions are. One thing I do not like is that the AI can be greedy when trading, Im sorry but Fur is not worth Gold, Gems, Iron, and Sugar.

I also really like the way they got rid of the transport unit, It really allows you to put to use some of those extra Workers you dont need anymore.

Im pretty sure Deer shows up as Fur and No, you do not need to link your roads to resources. Roads are only used to connect cities, I would not build a ton of roads as they have maintenance costs

A lot of the reviews I've read so far have said that it's hard to get any wins beside the military victory because the AI is so aggressive, is this true yet? (I'm installing.)

Well these Reviewers are not very good then, It just takes a different strategy than in IV. To get a Culture win, you have to devote your civ to creating culture. Most people are going to play with a mix of everything:Science, Culture, and Military. A winner is also automatically determined after 2050, you could easy have built a space ship by then. If you play nice and devote yourself science you should easily have a head start and be able to build the UN and win a diplomatic victory.

Basically if the game is too hard, turn down the difficulty. If you do not know how to really take advantage of the land and cities, play on settler and just look at how the AI uses the land.

Awesome game...just playing the tutorial one that lets you play and having a blast...

Lots of stuff to do, over time I'll learn everything better, but doing fairly well so far.

It's like a deeper campaign of Total War, but more deep in that respect (but no battles)...I usually auto decided battles anyways, so this is fun.

                              Re: Civilization V

Took the plunge....even though I've got a backlog of games a mile long. For some reason that $50 price tag for the average PC game just looks so much more enticing.

First thing that strikes me is how much more user-friendly this game is than CivIV - probably influenced from CivRev if I had to guess. The advisors seem very helpful, although they seem to tell me to build too many workers. Of course I just ignore what I think is a bad move and build something else.

Some of the advisors' other functions are much more helpful though - particularly the military guy who compares your army's strength with that of your opponents. Seems a little strange to just have that info out in the open, but I don't think there are any spies so there would be no other way of knowing it.

I played through the tutorial game after doing all 5 individual ones, and won pretty easily just following the advisors. Well.....except until I got bored around 1200 AD and decided to mercilessly crush Washington. Second game on Chieftan level was a lot better, a lot of stuff going on. I could tell from his leader screen that Askia was going to be the warmonger, and sure enough he was the first one going after city-states. When he attacked the one closest to me I declared on him, and managed to push him away from my lands and the city-state. From then on I just kept building up my civ, not really sure what victory to go for. And then......BZZT!. Power surge.....lost everything. Should have saved.

Think I'll try the next level up next...still found it a bit too easy, although I never even got to meet every Civ. So I don't really know how well they were doing compared to me.

Only one thing I don't really like so far - I can't find a record of rival Civs pledges to protect city-states. If you attack one of them that's protected you're just asking for war, yet one of the City-State quests is often to destroy a rival state.

Oh yeah - I laughed hard when I saw one of the achievements pop up after defeating a unit in one attack: "It's Super Effective!"

^There seems to be a few small issues, hopefuly they all get ironed out in a patch.

Im not sure I really like the menu telling me if I will be victorious, I guess I dont even really use it as I rely on Beating people down with Ranged units then moving in for the kill.

I cant wait to get started on a Ep-ic-Marathon game, those are my fave.
