Re: inFamous 2
G4 Review - 4/5
inFAMOUS 2 builds upon the excellent foundation established in its predecessor: give the player mass powers of electric destruction, present a standard good-and-evil moral duality, and let them loose in a city to do as they will. It's likely one of the best superhero-sandbox game ever made, and though it has its flaws, the game remains a polished experience from start to finish.
The more I played Infamous 2, the more I found myself disengaged with the story, instead enjoying the experience solely for its amazing open-world superhero fights. The game sacrifices its narrative flow for more fantastic elements. This isn’t a necessarily a bad thing; it just ends up being more about the action and random moments than Cole’s journey.
InFamous 2 is a hard game to hate, but an even tougher game to acclaim. It gets so much right -- great set pieces, a terrific series of battles involving monsters, and some truly compelling powers that really do put you in the conductive shoes of a superhero. The ability for users to create their own missions also means this game has room to grow. But the problems with InFamous 2 are more than just the result of raised expectations and trying to do too much. Yes, the missions are unimaginative (even compared to the original), navigation issues prevent you from ever attaining a movement rhythm, and the various narratives are a mess. But worse still, the combat isn’t as tight as it could be and the world itself just seems less polished than its predecessor.
Yet, for those moments when the game shines, it shines brightly.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: inFamous 2
I actually never had a problem with them. It's probably just because I find the game so damn fun. I understand it when people find fault in it, but it just never bothered me personally.Comment

Re: inFamous 2
Yes, because the ratings scale only goes from 7 to 10.
I'm freakin' pumped for this game. As said before, I actually enjoyed the story of the first. It was never much of a weakness for me, mainly because the game was so much fun. Zapping baddies will never get tiring for me, especially with some of the new high powered abilities in inFamous 2.Comment

It leaves me sad to think that a rating of 8 is thought to be poor.Comment

Re: inFamous 2
The demo blew my mind. Very familiar feel to the game, but the environment is fresh. This is a day one for me. I still have to beat the first one though lolLast edited by kingkilla56; 06-02-2011, 05:28 AM.Comment

Read over at CAG that few Target stores put them out early. Second mistake was they stuck them in the clearance bin for $30!Comment

Demo is incredible... they did such an amazing job of tweaking and making Cole feel like a complete badass. I can't wait for this to come out Tuesday.Comment
