I wasn't really into making levels either, but the game kept busy trying to ace all the levels and get all the bubbles.

I believe it's only 720p mate, the graphics themselves look nearly identical. I'll have to check for you later though.

          Eurogamer Review - 9

And it is only when you finally decide to look at the level-creation side of the package that this sequel begins to justify itself fully. Building a LittleBigPlanet level previously required players to have the inventiveness of Heath Robinson and the graft of the Egyptian slaves that built the pyramids. But for LBP2, the toolset has been expanded and at the same time somehow simplified. The key here is flexibility. The boundaries of game creation have been significantly widened in the sequel, so that creating a side-scrolling shoot-'em-up or a top-down twin-stick shooter, or even building a makeshift musical instrument is less a case of working around the toolset than working with it. For budding game designers, the overhaul is invaluable.
Even if you have no interest in creating levels yourself, LittleBigPlanet 2 merits its existence, not only because of the potential novelties its users will create with the vastly improved toolset, but also for the stronger, more refined single-player campaign. Strip away the relentless good looks and the generous open-source playpen, and the bare, underlying platformer's shortcomings may hold it back from classic status. But as a package, as a concept, as an unfinished story, LittleBigPlanet 2 is a world apart.
          CVG Review - 9.4

Story mode is better paced and more charming than its predecessor and stuffed absolutely full of imagination.
          Verdict
          • A smarter, more fun and accessible LittleBigPlanet that does everything better.

          • Smarter, imaginative Story mode
          • More accessible Create tools

          IGN Review - 9.0

There's no denying that LittleBigPlanet 2 is an amazing game. It's fun, clever, deep, engaging and great to try out with friends. The only issue is that some of the same frustrations from the last game are still present. Still, the ability to make games and not just levels outweighs any con. Even if you just want to play and never create, the fight to Ace every level, find every prize and earn every pin is going to keep you very busy -- and that's overlooking the simple fact of how much fun it is to ping-pong off a column of jump pads or use a grappling hook to swing around a level.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is a blast to play, and that's without the thousands of cool levels people are about to start posting.
          Joystiq Review -5/5

The Story mode, while brief, possesses plenty of satisfying challenges and brilliant puzzles -- and, thanks to the immense number of new gameplay mechanics present in the Create mode, it moves between genres with blinding speed.

Anyone know if there are any pre order specials anywhere for the Collectors edition? I haven't seen any but am curious if there's any extra or exclusive DLC somewhere before I buy it off of Amazon.

Not that I've seen. You get all three pre-order bonuses that come from Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon just for buying the collectors edition.

Yea, I'm guessing 720p as well. I think it's the same in ModNation Racers, only 720p.

I picked up the Gamestop pre order, the one that gives you the little tron looking guy. Can care less about that really, I just pre ordered it to get something new to play with my GF. We seem to be playing MNR almost daily and need to change it up.
