Man, you guys would've loved the arcade Midwest Champions was at.

They had an arcade cab of pretty much every fighting game worth a damn (even Killer Instinct lol). The guy running the tournament was a big MK fan. He said he even played MK II over Xband on the SNES back in the day.

It seemed like everyone at this tournament was Raiden. Both the guys that beat me were Raiden. One of them made it to the grand final and beat another Raiden in a mirror match.

Fun tournament, though. Supposedly they've been having MK9 tournaments every month since it came out. I will be back next month for sure!

I had no answer for Raiden's teleport into cross up.

But pretty much everybody got run over by Raiden in this tournament, so I was not alone.

Next time I will be better prepared for that matchup.

Been using skarlet a little and man I can't seem to get her combos to work right. Lol. I like everything about her especially her speed but I can't link her moves together to well yet.

What are her combos? The only one I discovered(by accident) is 1, 1, 4.

Any rumors on who the fourth DLC fighter will be? I'm hoping for Reiko or Frost.

Whats this about cross up? What are they doing after the teleport?

A cross up is when you jump over some one and punch them on the way down.

Most people will link a cross up to a ground combo, because if the cross up jump punch connects, there is no way to interrupt the ground combo outside of an EX move/combo breaker.

It's real tough against Raiden because he can teleport in on you from anywhere on the screen, and next thing you know he's crossing you up and going right into his 3,3,4 or B3,1,2 combo string.

Even if you block Raiden's primary combo strings, they both have hardly any recovery time, even after the patch. I believe you have 9 frames to punish Raiden on block after his main combo strings.

For Sheeva (my character of choice), that leaves D1 and D3 as the only ways to punish him, and those moves do 3% and 1% damage, respectively.

A cross up is when you jump over some one and punch them on the way down.

You can kick them too.

Put this in for a while this morning before I went to work. Was practicing some Riaden and found a pretty solid combo.

Jump in triangle, triangle, triangle, shock, superman. 26% damage. The hardest part is timing the superman after the shock. I was impressed I figured this one out. I'm not much of a combo user in MK. Made me want to play more and figure out how to tack on some more hits.

I saw the cpu do a similar combo and thought man that was fast no way I can do that on my controller but after a few practice sessions I had it going well.

That is only the tip of the iceberg for Raiden. His combos are beastly:

Plus his main combo strings (3, 3, 4 and B3, 1, 2) have super quick recovery even if they are blocked.

Can you not buy the season pass for PSN? Is it only Xbox 360? I'm in the MK section online of the PSN store now and I only see the skarlet add-on and no season pass option.
