When MK Trilogy came out, me and my cousin were up all night playing that ****. Looks like we'll be doing the same with MK9.

Really?? Aww man, I was so disappointed in the half-hearted attempt that was MKT.

They re-used the terrible sprites from MK3 and didn't even properly situate them with each fatality.

Reminded me of something that could be done with Mugen.... and very badly at that. I wanted that game to be so good, too.

I was just thrilled to have every MK fighter(and boss) in the game. My only beef was Rain & Noob Saibot were WAYYYYY too powerful, especially Noob's 'disabler' move.

I felt the exact same way. It just felt cheap and did not have a solid feel to it that MK2 had etc. Almost felt very slapped together and unfinished.

This new one is reminding me of MK2 (probably cause of all the stages) but matured with a more solid combo system than 3 had.

I hear you on that... but the execution killed all that excitement I had going in. *snickers like an immature kid*

EN, MK2 was my favorite and MKT was my last hope to finally be able to get into the MK3 engine... and it was a disaster in my eyes.

Still so sad. I would love to see them try it again.

I thought the MK3 engine was an improvement with the addition of the 'RUN' button/combo system. With the added speed, you can destroy an opponent in seconds - sweet. It was cool that some MKT fighters had new moves(like MKII Kung Lao's 'Superman'), but I hated that others were toned down(Kabal wasn't the force he was in MK3).

While we're talking MK, an unprotected directory on the game's official site let enterprising fans dig around and get some sound clips for some unannounced characters. If the files are genuine, those characters are...

• Goro
• Quan Chi
• Stryker
• Noob Saibot
• Sindel
• Kabal
• Shao Kahn
• Smoke
• Shang Tsung
• Ermac

There was also announcer voice files that indicate there is a possible return of the popular Test Your Might mode and maybe the first return of Brutalities since Mortal Kombat Trilogy introduced them almost 15 years ago.

If it's really old school MK, Shang Tsung should morph into other fighters. That was sweet (but hard as hell) back in the day.
