Re: Twisted Metal (PS3)
Not to mention memorizing every nuance of every track. There are underground areas or little secret shortcuts or ramps that get you to high places to rain havoc down on those below.
I'm having problems beating one of the single player levels.
A "cage" (what the game calls it) is created on part of the map and you have to confine all the fighting to this area. If you drive outside the area you start taking damage. Periodically the "cage" moves locations and you have to race to the new location before your timer expires or you start taking damage again. One of the areas I can't seem to find out how to get too.
The clan settings must be disabled right now or something, there is a profile tab that says it should show stats, rewards, friends and clans but there is no friend or clan info there. While in a game the menu shows a clan manager but it's not accessible from there.
XP unlock upgrades are vehicles and skins, sidearms, killstreak rewards, and secondary uses for the energy attacks (the d-pad weapons).Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Twisted Metal (PS3)
I am enjoying it. Getting more and more used to the controls by the match.
I played one 5 minute unranked game and won it. 2 kills, 2 assists, 1 death. Been sitting in a ranked lobby for 7-8 minutes now waiting for people to join. You need 6 to start and you can't join ranked matches mid game.
The filter system is really good you can set almost anything you want to find a match you're looking for. There's a tab that shows every game your friends are in so you can always find them that way even if the clan stuff isn't working right now.
In unranked games you have access to all the cars, in ranked you only have access to 3 cars at the beginning, Death Warrant, Outlaw, and Kamikaze. You've got to unlock the rest with XP.
Edit: Just finished a ranked match. And it was hella fun. Found myself biting my lip hard because it was so intense. Finished 4th out of 7. In the lobby where it shows the players in the room two of the people did have a clan tag in that column so I guess clan set up is working, I just can't find it I guess.Last edited by Mabster; 02-14-2012, 01:59 PM.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Twisted Metal (PS3)
I am playing offline first to get my feet wet, and I like what I see. The movies are creepy which I like. I want to know all the controls before I go onto online player mode.Comment

I'm looking forward to yall's impressions on this. I'm really on the fence about this one. I could see myself playing in a little bit, and then ultimately collecting dust.Comment

Re: Twisted Metal (PS3)
Ok I found it. At the main menu before even selecting single or multiplayer hitting select takes you to the Event Manager. Here you can create a clan of up to 32 members or a party of up to 8.
It's still a little buggy though, when trying to send invites it only shows about 80% of my friends list and it shows everybody is Offline even though clearly from the XMB some people aren't.
That's as far as I've gotten as I only have a couple OSers on my FL and out of those couple, only authentic has Twisted so far.Last edited by Mabster; 02-14-2012, 07:13 PM.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Twisted Metal (PS3)
The classic set up is easily the best for me. The dual stick controls are just wierd, using the right analog for gas and turbo is clunky but having to use L3 for a tight turn is just not intuitive. My issue with the race controls is that m thumb has to do three things constantly, fire both weapons and cycle the main weapon also. It's too much for my thumb to do all at the same time.
Edit: Oh, and if any trophy hunters are lurking, this is not an easy quick platinum. One of the bronze trophies "All Sales Are Final" -- Win at least 1 Ranked Online game per day for 30 straight days.
Sorry for all these consecutive posts too. I'm just trying to get the info out there but kind of keep topics separate at the same time.Last edited by Mabster; 02-14-2012, 07:14 PM.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks
