Oh, and now my ranking is in the high 70s for some reason. I didn't have a good night tonight when it came to a high K/D, but I didn't figure it would be that drastic of a drop.
The other day I saw the health truck get a double kill. I didn't know it could get kills until that happened.

I am close to starting to unlock the tier 2 vehicles, but for now am really enjoying the Junkyard Dog.

I can't really figure out the skill rating either. I'm assuming it's based on a K/D and damage done vs damage taken. I also assume the % itself is sort of like a graduation percentile. If you're 75% then you're better then 75% of your class. Thus your score can go down if you don't play at all and your classmates get better while you're away.

I've only played DM, do you have different skill ratings for each game type? It would make sense if you did but I doubt they took it that far.

Edit: I managed to inadvertently leave the clan yesterday when I was messing around in the clan/party manager. Will you have me back OS?

      Edit2: my small wishlist:
      1. A clan chat channel, not just party chat channel.

      2. Save what custom music playlist I use instead of having to go to the audio settings every time I load the game up.

      3. Save my MP filters so I don't have to redo them everything I load.

Sent from a van down by the river.

If you do, then they don't display it on the stats page. It's funny, because my numbers have only gone up since unlocking Reaper (except for the beginning of last night, but I closed off well especially with an 11-2-1 round). It wouldn't be anything if I went down 2%, but I went down more than 20% while I see some people sitting at 99.9%, and I kicked their asses around haha.

Sure, I'll do it later today. I got a huge pop-up notification that you left, and I was like, "The hell with him, then." LOL!

        1. I haven't tried any chat channels yet, but I'll take your word for it.

        2. Thankfully I haven't even tapped into my music files yet because the game's soundtrack is so damn awesome and fitting, but does it at least allow you to access playlists which are on your HDD that you pre-created, even if you have to go activate it each time you load up the game?

        3. This is a biggie. I always have to filter TDM (I don't do DM much, but I should try it because people always steal my kills lol), ranked games, and games which haven't yet started. At least it's pretty simple to run through that routine now, but I'm surprised that something like that can't be saved.

The first week I saw a lot of people with a 99.9% and at first I thought the lower the % the better, but that simply can't be right. I was sucking bad at first and when I finally got a skill rating it was around 18%. I'm learning the maps slowly and unlocking some vehicles that I'm more comfortable with and my % is rising.

          Damn, two strikes!

I had a couple friends on yesterday in one location that were trying to figure out splitscreen online multiplayer, I told them to invite me to their party but instead they invited me to the clan they just made. I clicked the accept button before I realized the error.

          1. The above situation with people on and in a clan gave me an opportunity to play around with the chat channels

          2. You can play a set playlist. I had to mess around with the audio levels so I could still hear the music and hear the in game cues like "Your health is low!" ( I hear that one way too often, lol!)

Another beef, I can NOT guide the ****ing nuke! I always invert the Y axis on all my games. You can do this for normal free look but as soon as you start piloting the nuke it's back to normal. I tried for like an hour yesterday to pass the Iron Maiden boss and just couldn't do it. I'll be back at it again today.

Has anyone messed around with the skin editor? I see it was a waste of time. It's not like there is anywhere to check out peoples paint jobs and I'm not going to be pulling up on anyone in a death match and being like "Ooooo, that's a sweet skin!"

Well, apparently it just takes a little bit to update, because now I'm back up to 97.6%.

Anyway, earlier tonight I was playing with this person called TOGUROSFULLPOWER, and he was just yapping off the mic the entire time. He was hilarious! I guess I can't really put things into context here with how he was talking, but he was just so funny. He was giving play-by-plays of what was happening and was totally into needing health and stuff. He would even gauge how fast he was going and how many meters he was behind somebody, etc. I wish there was a way I could've recorded him. I might friend him just to play with him in this game!

                Online Patch Update

Hey all- thanks for hanging in there with me tonite waiting for an update. Crazy day- very busy. Sorry it's coming so late.

                Ok, here's what I know:

                1. NETWORK ISSUES:

a- a patch left SDQA today and is in format tomorrow. It's POSSIBLE it will hit Twisted Metal tomorrow nite but Sony tells me it will be either tomorrow nit or Thursday morning. Forgive my layman's understanding of this sort of stuff, but the core idea is that we hope the patch will go some/a long/the full (not sure which) way to making it so players connect consistently to online games. The patch will be addressing the following issues (again, forgive my lay understanding):

                - Quick match and user created matches will be split so people looking for human created games are not being pulled/put into quick match games.
                - The list of matches will be randomized (to an extent) so not every user sees the same game list in the same order (causing EVERYONE to try to pick games off game list page 1 at the same time and the resulting in some of our CAN NOT JOIN ISSUES).
                - When a user gets a CAN NOT JOIN error and tries to create his own game, seems there is a bug where not all of the CAN NOT JOIN game is cleared out, potentially creating a new game room that retains elements of the CAN NOT JOIN logic from the first game the user tried to set up. The programmers at ESP and SONY feel this fix could solve a large % of our issues with players connecting and MAYBE even solve the issues of players being dropped mid game.
                - A few other fixes that- we hope- will make big differences to connecting.

                2. CRASHING OLDER PS3S:

No official word but this is what it's looking like: while it's possible we didn't get rid of all of the crash bugs in the game that lock your system (although we didn't let the game go out knowing there was a crash bug so if you've found a genuine, reproducible one, let us know how you did it!…but more and more it's looking like the crashes we are hearing about on the older PS3s are hardware related. Twisted- like a lot of games- pulls a big amount of power on ramp up and some of the older systems- perhaps because of age, perhaps because of dust inside, perhaps because of a graphics card that is just on its last legs- can't keep up. This seems like it would explain- according to the very smart tech folks who explained this to me- why we are seeing crashes in the first 10sec-5 min of the game BUT without any consistent breadcrumb trails that would indicate it's a software problem (i.e. every time I turn left at this corner and drop the remote bomb and blow up Juggernaut when he's below 30% health, the game crashes).

Our Sony Santa Monica Producer is going to speak with customer service to see how rampant this issue is. Turns out a number of games have issues like this but it's usually a small number compared to the number of copies of the game out there. Customer Service will allow us to see how frequent of an issue this is and if it's above the norm of this sort of issue, we'll keep looking for what the problem could be.

As of now though, that's what we know on that issue.

                3. SKINS-

Biggest issue is the skins are too dark. This will be addressed- according to Sony- with a Twisted Metal website update in the next 48 hours. From what they tell me, this is why Tooth doesn't show up except anything but black and bright white cars show up super dark too. We'll see how it improves but I hear a new version is up in the next 48 hours. My understanding is THIS issue is keeping the NOS skins from being made available as well. Will keep checking on that tomorrow and update you on the NOS specific issues- if they are different form this issue- via Twitter.

Better browsing of skins will also hit by Thrusday.

                4. MISC- Aware of a lot of the issues you guys have that are not on this list and they are going on a TO DO/TO PATCH list but as I'm sure you understand, right now getting the connection issues 100% resolved is where 95% of the effort is going. Will update ya'll on the changes/fixes to common requests/complaints as they come in the next days and weeks.

                5. AUTO START IN MATCH MADE GAMES- Long story but right now, the band aid solve is to make the user who is the host super aware by changing the UI so they won't be able to miss the visuals cues that THEY need to hit START. After that gets in and fixed, we'll see if it's still needed to implement a forced launch after X seconds/minutes. Sounds like this change will hit this week as well but I'm not 100% sure.

Ok, so that's what I know right now. More to come- thanks for being patient with the game and with us. It's super, super appreciated. We're very sorry, ya'll.

                David
Glad that they're working hard to fix the network issues. This game is pretty addicting, and even more fun once you learn how to use all of the weapons.

                  Re: Twisted Metal (PS3)

Great to hear! I'm telling you, we probably won't need autostarts if the host knows they're the host lol.

Anyway, I'm finishing for tonight, and I will leave you with my Twisted Metal claim to fame. I actually got into the Top 200 on the leaderboards:

The problem is that the Vita comes out tomorrow, so that will take up some of my time, meaning that tonight will mark the lowest I will have ever gotten playing this game online. Feels good nonetheless haha.

I wish I had a PVR or something so I could have recorded some of my best kills. This game seriously has some nice jaw-dropping moments.

Wow good job! lol. Definitely would have been cool if the game had some sort of replay feature. I went on an 8 kill streak earlier and it was an adrenaline rush. Each kill got more and more satisfying.

How is that one guys skill level only 1.99%?

And lol at some of those names, I've played with a couple from that list.

Jumped on today after a couple day hiatus. Figured I'd get some training in by completing the single player campaign. It's SO much easier then playing MP, at least on normal difficulty.

I see a couple new names in the thread. How's the clan size these days Blzer? (I didn't have a invite waiting for me tonight, can you get one to me the next time you log in?) Congrats on the top 200, that's a might feat!

Edit: I hate this F'n Skyline map!

Ok this vid is like 4 days old at this point but it's a good post anyway. Blzer, he talks a little about your problem with gaining XP but no rank change. Seems like that is saved server side and sometimes takes some time to reflect on the players side whether through a simple refresh or waiting. An interesting point is that he also mentions "tuning the gameplay". I read that as nerfing some of the multiplayer damage or scoring.

I think this is a game where I trophy hunt a little, play the single player and trade it in. The multiplayer just isn't doing it for me.
