    Eurogamer Review - 9

One of its sweetest surprises came in the first couple seconds of play. I hit the jump button, and when my character landed, the controller vibrated. It's mild, yet it says a lot. It says that this is just a boy, not a futuristic robot or a genetic-freak hedgehog, so when he hits the ground with both feet, he feels it. And you do, too, by way of a lopsided motor in the Xbox 360 controller. With one touch (literally), the black silhouette on screen struck me as a full-bodied person.

That's Limbo: a game that has very few humans, but a surplus of humanity.
    Giant Bomb Review - 5/5

Limbo has a transportive quality that's hard to articulate. It so expertly realizes both its internal gameplay logic and its prevailing aesthetic that it almost creates a sort of reverie as you play, fully removing you from your physical environment and plopping you into this cold, mesmerizing other land. Though you'll find it's a tough place to survive, it might also be one you're in no hurry to leave behind. The game is a masterpiece.
    G4 Review - 5/5

Tiniest of criticisms aside, Limbo is a top to bottom masterpiece. The last time I was this enthralled with a game world and a narrative (despite the fact that there is absolutely no explanation whatsoever about who the kid is, what happened to him, if he’s actually in "limbo" in the traditional sense, etc.) was BioShock, one of my favorite games of all time. It grabs hold of you at the title screen, and doesn’t let you go until after the credits roll. The ending definitely leaves the door open for a sequel, but while I can’t wait to see what Playdead has planned for it, I'm totally fine playing Limbo 100 times in the meantime, as it is without hesitation one of 2010's best games.
    IGN Review - 9.0

Limbo is an incredible achievement. Very few games are as original, atmospheric, and consistently brilliant as Limbo. It belongs in everybody's collection. The journey may be over too quickly, but you will be entertained every minute. This is one of my favorite games ever.
    Joystiq Review - 5/5

Rewarding as they may be, though, the puzzles really serve as a means to an end. The actual meaning of Limbo, I think, lies in the journey itself. In that sense, it reminds me most of Out of This World or the original Prince of Persia, in that it truly takes you to another place, puts you in another person's shoes. Dark, disturbing, yet eerily beautiful, Limbo is a world that deserves to be explored.
    Destructoid Review - 10

Limbo is as close to perfect at what it does as a game can get. It's artistic without being pompous, difficult without being cheap, and violent without being gratuitous. It gets everything just right, and while the adventure will only take dedicated players a few hours to beat, the memory of the game will remain for much, much longer, and many players won't stop at beating the game just once. If I had to sum this game up in one word, I think that word would be "effective." That's what this game is, in every sense of the word.

I'm not going to tell you to buy it. I'm going to ask you to buy it.

Alright. Despite the very steep price for apparently a very short game, it seems like a game that needs to be experienced. I'll be getting it.

            91 on metacritic.

Seems like 2010's Braid, which is the last XBLA game I bought for $15.

It might be getting good reviews, but I just played what they give you in the demo, and it was boring. No music. Very little sound effects. No story. Black and white. Why is this game getting 5/5?

Gameplay, puzzle solving, the uniqueness of the game.

I didn't like the demo very much. It's great to look at - not so fun to play, for me.

I dislike games where I can hardly see anything going on and have to stumble around to find something.

The art concept is great, and I'll say it's unique (as far as I've seen), but it's just not fun after about 2-3 minutes.

to each his own. I guess if you don't buy into the world thats being presented you just won't "get it'. I find the mysterious pacing and the fact that walking around carefully because im not sure what lies ahead to be big time fun.

I didn't think a whole lot of it either. Too much trial & error and I suspect it would get quite frustrating at some point. I liked the style. Probably would've bought it for $5.

                            Hate the way it plays.

Just did nothing for me, and I'm sure the $15 price tag had something to do with that as well.

I'm avoiding it just because I feel like its another Braid. I love the look and atmosphere of the game and can see why its getting great reviews, but like Braid I never got around to finishing it because I didn't care for some of the puzzles.
